¿Cómo están el día de hoy? Yo estoy muy feliz de estar por aquí con una nueva película para comentar. En esta ocasión, la verdad, tengo muchísimas ganas de hablar de una película que acabo de ver junto a mi madre y a mi abuela. La película de la cual hablo se llama yo antes de ti. Esta película es muy conocida a nivel mundial y se puede considerar un clásico en el cine romántico, yo había visto varios clips de la misma, pero jamás la había visto completa, realmente me generó muchas emociones y a mi madre también, ella la ha visto muchísimas veces, pero cada vez que la vuelve a ver, llora.

Sin más, quiero hablarles de esta hermosa película, la cual superó mis expectativas.

How are you today? I am very happy to be here with a new movie to talk about. This time, I really want to talk about a movie I just saw with my mother and grandmother. The movie I'm talking about is called Me Before You. This movie is very well known worldwide and can be considered a classic in romantic cinema, I had seen several clips of it, but I had never seen it in its entirety, it really generated many emotions in me and my mother too, she has seen it many times, but every time she sees it again, she cries.

Without further ado, I want to tell you about this beautiful movie, which exceeded my expectations.

Resumen

Conocemos, antes que nada, a William Traynor, un joven exitoso, el cual lo perdió todo en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, gracias a un fatídico accidente, que lo dejaría cuadriplejico (parálisis que afecta a las 4 extremidades), así sentenciándolo a una vida postrado en una silla de ruedas.

We meet, first of all, William Traynor, a successful young man, who lost everything in the blink of an eye, thanks to a fateful accident, which would leave him quadriplegic (paralysis affecting all 4 limbs), thus sentencing him to a life in a wheelchair. 

Sus padres, preocupados, contratan a una cuidadora, la cual es nuestra otra protagonista, Louisa Clark, más conocida como Lou. Esta chica estaba buscando trabajo urgentemente para poder ayudar a su familia, en lo que por azares del destino le proponen cuidar a una persona totalmente dependiente y, además, hacerle algo de compañía.

His parents, worried, hire a caregiver, which is our other protagonist, Louisa Clark, better known as Lou. This girl was urgently looking for a job in order to help her family, when, as fate would have it, she is offered to take care of a totally dependent person and, in addition, to keep her company.

Así es como comienza la historia de un hombre cansado de la vida y un poco amargado, y una señorita que viste de una forma peculiar y divertida. Aquí vemos como poco a poco nuestros protagonistas se van conociendo y haciéndose más cercanos. William deja su obstinación un poco de lado y decide tener momentos de felicidad junto a Lou, su cuidadora

This is how the story of a man tired of life and a bit bitter, and a lady who dresses in a peculiar and funny way begins. Here we see how little by little our protagonists get to know each other and become closer. William puts his stubbornness aside a bit and decides to have moments of happiness with Lou, his caregiver.

Lou rápidamente se entera de que William ha puesto un tiempo máximo en su vida, y que en pocos meses tendrá un tratamiento de eutanasia, el cual le dará el descanso que tanto ha buscado después de tanto sufrimiento. Sin pensarlo dos veces, con el apoyo de los padres de William, Lou planea salidas y viajes maravillosos, para regresar les las ansias de vivir al joven William. Emprenden viajes a lugares paradisíacos, asisten a conciertos de música clásica, comen en hermosos restaurantes, y poco a poco van enamorándose el uno del otro.

Lou quickly learns that William has set a time limit on his life, and that in a few months he will have a euthanasia treatment, which will give him the rest he has been looking for after so much suffering. Without thinking twice, with the support of William's parents, Lou plans wonderful trips and outings to give young William the desire to live again. They take trips to paradisiacal places, attend classical music concerts, eat in beautiful restaurants, and little by little they fall in love with each other. 

Pero como no todo siempre es lo que parece, aunque a William se le ve notoriamente más feliz, este sigue siendo firme con su decisión, y termina haciéndose su fatídico tratamiento, el cual le daría ese descanso eterno.

But as everything is not always what it seems, although William is noticeably happier, he remains firm with his decision, and ends up having his fateful treatment, which would give him that eternal rest.

Lou muy afligida, da un paseo en París, el cual ella quiso realizar con su amado William, pero lamentablemente, no todo siempre es color de rosas. Aquí en París ella lee una carta que le dejo William, hablándole del amor tan inmenso que le tenía, y como no sería capaz de amarrarla a una vida cuidando a un inválido.

Lou, very distressed, takes a walk in Paris, which she wanted to do with her beloved William, but unfortunately, not everything is always rosy. Here in Paris she reads a letter that William left her, telling her of his immense love for her, and how he would not be able to tie her to a life caring for an invalid. 

Mi opinión

En esta hermosa obra, considero que hay algunos puntos buenos y malos de los que hablar, para poder crear una buena reseña digna de leer

In this beautiful work, I consider that there are some good and bad points to talk about, in order to create a good review worth reading

Algo que quiero mencionar, es que mi abuela, a lo largo de la película, hablaba de lo raros que eran las vestimentas de la protagonista, y de cómo eran totalmente inapropiadas para su edad. Personalmente, a mí estas me parecieron muy lindas y llenas de vida. Aunque claro, seguramente no sería capaz de ponerme esas combinaciones, ya que no es mi estilo, pero realmente me parece muy original y único. A veces pienso que en el mundo hace falta personas más originales, pero tristemente muchas personas mal intencionadas critican cualquier cosa que puedan observar

Something I want to mention, is that my grandmother, throughout the movie, talked about how weird the main character's outfits were, and how they were totally inappropriate for her age. Personally, to me, these seemed very cute and full of life. Although of course, I probably wouldn't be able to wear those combinations, since it's not my style, but I really find it very original and unique. Sometimes I think that the world needs more original people, but sadly many ill-intentioned people criticize anything they can see.

La película está muy bien producida a nivel actoral. El actor de William, Sam Claflin, hace un muy buen trabajo personificado a una persona cuadriplejica. Me pareció muy buen cuidado el detalle donde sus manos no están totalmente estiradas como en una persona común, se puede observar como las tiene ligeramente recogidas o en posiciones incómodas para personas con todas sus capacidades físicas. Son pequeños detalles que marcan la diferencia, como dice mi madre, el diablo está en los detalles

The film is very well produced on an acting level. William's actor, Sam Claflin, does a very good job impersonating a quadriplegic person. I thought the detail where his hands are not totally stretched out as in an ordinary person was very well taken care of, you can see how he has them slightly retracted or in uncomfortable positions for people with all their physical capabilities. They are small details that make the difference, as my mother says, the devil is in the details.

Hay una parte exacta de la película, donde Lou le grita a William por ser egoísta y quererse morir. Realmente por esto no la culpo, ya que en una situación de estrés todos reaccionaríamos de alguna forma indeseada o no apropiada, pero para mí y para muchas personas, William no es nada Egoísta.

There is an exact part of the movie, where Lou yells at William for being selfish and wanting to die. I don't really blame her for this, as in a stressful situation we would all react in some unwanted or inappropriate way, but to me and to many people, William is not selfish at all.

Se le puede considerar egoísta por no pensar en los sentimientos de los demás al momento en el que deje este mundo, pero, ¿quién piensa realmente en él? William sufre diferentes dolores y enfermedades gracias a su condición y a su pobre sistema inmunitario. Además de tener que cargar con todas estas enfermedades, también debe lidiar con no poder hacer nada por el mismo, más que mover ligeramente la mano para controlar la silla

He may be considered selfish for not thinking about the feelings of others the moment he leaves this world, but who really thinks about him? William suffers from different pains and illnesses thanks to his condition and poor immune system. In addition to having to deal with all these illnesses, he also has to deal with not being able to do anything for himself other than move his hand slightly to control the chair.

Me gusta ponerme en el lugar de los demás para tratar de pensar en cómo se sentiría, y opino que simplemente no lo soportaría. Si tuviera su condición, no soportaría ver cómo de un día para otro me convertí en una carga, y cómo de ahora en adelante, tendrán que hacer todo por mí y para mí. Sinceramente, yo también tomaría la misma opción que tomó William, ya que debe ser muy triste vivir en sus condiciones.

I like to put myself in other people's shoes to try to think about how he would feel, and I am of the opinion that he simply would not put up with it. If I had their condition, I would not stand to see how from one day to the next I became a burden, and how from now on, they will have to do everything for me and to me. Honestly, I would also take the same option that William took, as it must be very sad to live in his condition.

William, antes de todo este episodio, era un joven sobresaliente e inteligente, muy atractivo y visionario para los negocios. De un día para otro perdió sus empresas, sus amigos, a su novia, su dinero, y solamente le quedó sentarse en una silla y no hacer nada más que escuchar música, y para colmo, fue partícipe de cómo su mejor amiga se casaba con su ahora exnovia.

William, before this whole episode, was an outstanding and intelligent young man, very attractive and visionary in business. From one day to the next he lost his business, his friends, his girlfriend, his money, and was left to sit in a chair and do nothing but listen to music, and to top it all off, he witnessed his best friend marry her now ex-girlfriend. 

La decisión que tomó William, la habría tomado el 80% de las personas y no tengo ninguna duda respecto a eso. Es muy triste pensar en cómo Lou se dedicó a él en cuerpo y alma, para que este fuera realmente feliz y quisiera vivir sus años a su lado, pero lamentablemente, esta película no tiene un típico final feliz. Personalmente, opino que si tiene un final feliz, ya que William pudo dejar de sufrir y dejarle algo de dinero a Lou para que esta pueda tener un buen comienzo y una buena vida. No es el típico final feliz para una pareja, pero sí es un final de sacrificio y amor puro ya que la decisión de William de no amarrarla a él por el resto de su vida, fue una decisión llena de amor verdadero

The decision William made, 80% of people would have made and I have no doubt about that. It is very sad to think about how Lou devoted herself to him body and soul, so that he would be truly happy and want to live out his years by her side, but sadly, this movie does not have a typical happy ending. Personally, I think it does have a happy ending, as William was able to stop suffering and leave Lou some money so that Lou could have a good start and a good life. It is not a typical happy ending for a couple, but it is an ending of sacrifice and pure love because William's decision not to tie her to him for the rest of her life was a decision full of true love.
