Today, I bring you a review of the German movie titled “The Dive.” It’s a thriller based on two sisters who go on an excursion, and one of them becomes trapped at the bottom of the sea.

Hoy les traigo la reseña de la película Alemana llamada: “The Dive". Es un Thriller basado en 2 hermanas que van de paseo y una de ellas queda atrapada en el fondo del mar.
Argumento
La historia comienza con el viaje de las hermanas Drew (Sophie Lowe) y May (Louisa Krause) a la playa para disfrutar de un dia de buceo.
Todo va como lo planeado, se sumergen en el agua y exploran hasta llegar a un agujero en el fondo del mar. Sin embargo, durante la conversación, se percibe que algo no está bien. En ese momento, Drew decide regresar, pero un derrumbe de piedras la deja atrapada en el abismo.
Con los minutos contados, May subirá a la superficie a pedir ayuda . Sin embargo, el lugar está desierto.

Plot
The story begins with sisters Drew (Sophie Lowe) and May (Louisa Krause) embarking on a beach trip to enjoy a day of diving.
Everything goes according to plan as they dive into the water and explore until they reach a hole in the seabed. However, during their conversation, something feels off. At that moment, Drew decides to return, but a rockslide leaves her trapped in the abyss.
With time running out, May will surface to seek help. Unfortunately, the place is deserted.

Mi Opinion
"The Dive” es una película sencilla pero claustrofóbica. La fotografía es hermosa , sobre todo las escenas en la superficie, mientras que debajo del mar son oscuras e impresionantes.
May
El personaje de May me encantó, ya que enfrenta los desafíos de manera realista, cometiendo errores como cualquier persona en esa situación, como por ejemplo rodar un carro por un barranco para abrir la maleta, o darse por vencida, o correr sabiendo que no tiene tiempo, o que se te caigan las cosas por los nervios
Drew
Por otro lado, Drew, atrapada en el fondo del mar, muestra una actitud más calculadora, Su paciencia se agota junto con el oxígeno que le queda
En el último tramo de la película, cuando Drew ya sabe cuál será su destino, el director nos muestra destellos de su historia, que nos ayuda a comprender mejor los problemas que tiene con su hermana y observamos como la pantalla se va cerrando asi como su vida.
Los efectos de sonidos
del agua, de los tanques de oxígeno, las burbujas y el mar en general te sumergen en la tensión de la película. La música en la secuencia final es hermosa
My opinion
“The Dive” is a straightforward yet claustrophobic film. The cinematography is beautiful, especially the scenes above the water’s surface, while those beneath the sea are dark and impressive.
MAY
The character of May fascinated me because she faces challenges realistically, making mistakes like any person in that situation. For example, she rolls a car down a ravine to open the trunk, gives up, runs knowing she’s short on time, and drops things due to nerves.
DREW
On the other hand, Drew, trapped at the bottom of the sea, exhibits a more calculated attitude. Her patience dwindles along with the remaining oxygen.
In the final stretch of the movie, when Drew already knows her fate, the director provides glimpses of her backstory. This helps us better understand the issues she has with her sister, and we observe how the screen gradually closes in, mirroring her life.
The sound effects
of water, oxygen tanks, bubbles, and the sea overall immerse you in the tension of the film. The music in the final sequence is beautiful.

Disfruté mucho de las escenas fuera del agua, aunque debo admitir que algunas cosas pueden resultar un poco exageradas. Pero en una situación así, la adrenalina fluye y uno se siente capaz de todo.
Lo que no me convenció
fue que no sabemos quiénes son ellas y cómo llegaron a ese clima de tension. Además, la elección de la canción “Only You” de The Platters en los momentos finales no me pareció adecuada. Tal vez el volumen alto nos saca de la atmósfera de tensión que la película construye.
Como enfermera,los últimos minutos no me gustaron desde el punto de vista de salud, pero entiendo que a veces debemos dejar espacio para la ficción.
Mi puntuación sería 6/10.
En general, me gustó mucho “The Dive", sus actuaciones y el desenlace. Te la recomiendo si eres una persona que disfrutas de las películas sencillas, donde lo importante es sobrevivir.

I greatly enjoyed the scenes outside the water, although I must admit that some things may appear a bit exaggerated. But in a situation like that, adrenaline flows, and one feels capable of anything.
What didn't convince me
was that we don't know who they are and how they ended up in that tense situation. Additionally, the choice of The Platters' song "Only You" in the final moments didn't seem quite fitting. Perhaps the loud volume takes us out of the tension-filled atmosphere that the movie builds.
As a nurse, the last few minutes didn't convince me from a health perspective, but I understand that sometimes we must leave room for fiction.
My rating would be 6/10.
Overall, I really liked "The Dive," its performances, and the resolution. I recommend it if you're someone who enjoys simple movies where survival is key.
