Final Freechain update before Hivefest.
This will be the final update before the closed premiere in Mexico during Hivefest.
The film is finished as it stands now. We had a few people rewatch it a few times and we cut some stuff that affected the flow of the film. We expanded some things that helped clarify the story. Final touches matter.
4 days ago the film went in for color correction and sound design.
We should be getting it back in a few days.
What remains now is just beautifying the animation with some VFX, adding movement, some zooms here and there. Our editor will be playing with that a bit in the coming days.
It has been a long road to get to this point and I can say it was a fulfilling experience. We are really excited to show it finally on the big screen.
The reaction of Hivers is important but its what comes after that will make this film worthwhile or not.
Everyone is a critic, everyone has their own idea in their head what this should be about, what it should look like but what will be measure of success is what comes after.
Once I return from Mexico, that is where I will be putting my effort towards. Most of you can imagine what that entails.
In essence we are opening a door for us towards a new industry and I hope to use the chance we are given to the best of my ability.

I didn't actually open my laptop or look at Hive for the last few days.
I'm sure it is an amazing experience for you. If i have been following you, i would have loved to get to watch the movie myself. you mentioned critics, is a way to show you appreciate thoughtful comment or suggest on your work.
Everyone will eventually get a chance to watch it.
How long after the premiere you think it will be available on youtube? Any other distribution channels?
There are some people that need to see the film before I can answer the question of when it will be publicly available.
Our hope is that we wont have to show it on youtube.
I remember you guys said something about trying to get the movie to Netflix. Is this still a real scenario?
Every scenario is a real scenario. That doesnt mean it will happen. :)

Sorry I won't be there to see the Premier but the timing and flight length were prohibitive.
How are you planning to distribute it outside Hive?

BEER.This is very exciting. My kids were both in entertainment and one of them was into making independent films. I remember going to a premier at a local (art) theater, years ago. It is an all-absorbing effort and quite expensive, as I recall.
I'm looking forward to seeing the final film. There is no way I could ever go to Mexico 😄. Significant travel is basically over for me, so I hope the movie appears in a forum I can watch locally.
