I spent the afternoon watching my favorite movie and drinking beer.

My favorite movie is " Aliens"(1986), which has been my number one movie ever since I saw it for the first time when I was 14 years old. No matter how many times I watch it, everything about it is amazing, and although there are many other movies I love, it is hard to find one that surpasses it.

"Aliens" is the second film in the Alien series and is considered to have great action scenes. But I like the elaborate depiction of the characters and enjoy watching the cool women in action, such as Ripley, the main character, Vasquez, the Space Marine soldier, and Newt, the surviving girl.

The beer to drink with the movie is KIRIN's " Harekaze". I bought it last night and kept it chilled in the refrigerator. As the name suggests, I bought it because of the bright color of the can, which reminds me of fine weather. My husband bought crackers, cream cheese, and salami, so I didn't hesitate to enjoy it.

Harekaze has an alcohol content of 5%, which is not very high. It is brewed with the rare Japanese hop "IBUKI" and is said to feature a citrus aroma. It seems that I am not good at capturing the citrus aroma of beers, not just Harekaze. Aside from that, Harekaze is positioned as the perfect beer for hot days, and as the concept suggests, it was refreshing and easy to drink.

I searched for Harekaze commercials on YouTube and found this TV commercial. I rarely watch TV, so this was the first time I saw this commercial, and it was wonderful to see the performers in yukata, which is very summery in Japan. However, I had no idea who the two youngest of the four were, which made me feel my age..

Drinking beer while watching "Aliens" was exceptional. It was the time of day when my elder son was at juku (cram school) and my younger son, 6 years old was at home. At first he was playing Splinterlands on the PC, but when he saw the crackers and cream cheese, he came up to me and said, "I'll join Beer Saturday," and started eating the crackers. I don't think he understood what "Beer Saturday" was, of course, but he got the impression that it was a lot of fun. I hope he will join us when he comes of age.

After flattening the fried chicken, I was still a little hungry, so I made the potato pizza I have posted before. It's a simple recipe of slicing potatoes, dusting them with potato starch, and baking them with cheese. For seasoning, I used Cambodian salt (probably expired!) for seasoning.
Today was a very nice holiday for me, no part time work, just a little housework in the morning, and then beer and a movie.

午後は私の大好きな映画を観ながらビールを飲みました。

大好きな映画というのは『エイリアン2』で、14歳のときに初めて観て以来、私の中で不動の一位となっています。何度観てもそのすべてが素晴らしく、他にも好きな映画はたくさんあるけれど、なかなかこれを超える映画に出逢うことができません。

『エイリアン2』はエイリアンシリーズの第2作で、アクションシーンが素晴らしいとされています。でも私は登場人物が精緻に描かれている点が好きで、主人公のリプリー、宇宙海兵隊の兵士バスケス、生き残りの少女ニュートなどなど、カッコいい女性達の活躍を観て楽しんでいます。

映画と一緒に飲むビールは、KIRINの「晴れ風」。昨夜のうちに買って冷蔵庫で冷やしておきました。その名の通り、快晴を思わせる鮮やかな缶の色に惹かれて購入したものです。夫がクラッカーとクリームチーズ、サラミを買ってくれたので、遠慮なくいただきました。

「晴れ風」のアルコール度数は5％と、それほど高くありません。希少な日本産ホップ「IBUKI」が使われており、柑橘系の香りが特長らしいのですが… 私はその香りをうまく嗅ぎ分けることができませんでした。「晴れ風」に限らず、どうやら私はビールの柑橘香を捉えるのが苦手みたいです。それはさておき、「晴れ風」は暑い日にぴったりのビールとして位置づけられており、コンセプトの通りすっきりと飲みやすかったです。

「晴れ風」のCMをYouTubeで探してみたところ、このテレビCMが見つかりました。私はテレビをほとんど観ないので、このCMは今回初めて目にしましたが、出演者の浴衣姿が日本の夏らしくて素敵でした。ただ、4人のうち若い二人が誰なのか全然分からず、自分の年齢を感じてしまったのでした…

『エイリアン2』を観ながら飲むビールは格別でした。長男が塾に行っていた時間帯で、次男が家にいました。最初はPCに向かってSplinterlandsをプレイしていた次男でしたが、クラッカーとクリームチーズを見ると寄ってきて「ぼくもビアサタデーしたい」と言い、クラッカーを食べ始めました。次男はもちろん「ビアサタデー」が何なのか分かっていないと思いますが、「とても楽しいもの」だという印象は抱いたようです。成人したら、ぜひ一緒に参加して欲しいです。

冷凍のから揚げを平らげ、まだ少し物足りなかったので、以前にも投稿したいもピザを作りました。ジャガイモをスライスして片栗粉をまぶし、チーズと一緒に焼くだけの簡単レシピです。味付けにはカンボジアの塩（おそらく消費期限切れ！）を使いました。
今日はパートもなく、午前中に少し家事をしただけで、あとはビールと映画を楽しむという、私にとってとても良い休日でした。
