¿Por qué vi esta serie?/Why did I watch this series?

Soy consumidora de series y películas de Netflix, así que siempre tengo la plataforma abierta en mi televisor, sin embargo, hace un tiempo desde que estrenaron ésta miniserie había visto el nombre y lo primero que me recordó fue al cantante de música Hip Hop Usher🤣, pero al ver la portada y como estamos en época de Halloween, dije: "uhm parece de terror" y también me impresionó la fotografía de Carla Gugino con esos ojos tan aterradores y una sonrisa malévola, la verdad no llamó mi atención., sentía un poco de intriga pero no me llamaba demasiado...al tiempo mi papá me comenta que la estuvo viendo y le estaba gustando y me la recomendó, me sorprendió porque mi papá es de la vieja escuela y a pesar de que usa Netflix, se ha llevado muchas decepciones para su gusto, no es muy fan del cine de éstos tiempos así que para que me dijera que le estaba gustando me impresionó y de ahi me genero intriga y me propuse verla.

I'm a Netflix series and movies consumer, so I always have the platform open on my TV, however, some time ago since they released this miniseries I had seen the name and the first thing that reminded me was the Hip Hop singer Usher🤣, but when I saw the cover and as we are in Halloween time, I said: "uhm it looks like horror" and I was also impressed by the picture of Carla Gugino with those scary eyes and a malevolent smile, the truth **didn't catch my attention. **, I felt a little intrigued but it didn't call me too much...after a while my dad told me that he was watching it and he liked it and recommended it to me, I was surprised because my dad is old school and even though he uses Netflix, he has had many disappointments for his taste, he is not a big fan of movies these days so for him to tell me that he liked it impressed me and from there I was intrigued and I decided to watch it.

Bueno debo decirles que al principio cuando mostraron escenas completamente extrañas que se veía que formaban parte de lo que iba a suceder y que pronto descubriríamos me quedé muy impresionada y shoeckeada porque no entendía nada, pero desde el momento en que Roderick Usher(Bruce Greenwood) empieza a contarle a un oficial de la policía sobre su vida, entendí que se venía su historia y el parecía ser el padre de los Usher.

De eso se trata el primer episodio de dejarnos con muchas interrogantes, y de sentirnos ansiosos por seguir viendo la historia.

La vida de Madeline Usher y Roderick Usher estando adolescentes dónde veían día a día a su mamá enferma, se quejaba mucho de dolores, tenía una enfermedad llamada "CADASIL" que causa episodios de demencia, alucinaciones entre otros síntomas.

Su madre estaba enamorada de su jefe y vecino, dueño de la compañía Fortunato Pharmaceutics pero éste la trataba mal al igual que a sus hijos, era un hombre con mucho dinero y los niños sospechaban que él podía ser su padre biológico.

Un día su madre muere ya que no quería ser llevada al médico y Madeline y Roderick toman la decisión de enterrarla ya que no tenían apoyo de nadie, pero sorpresivamente su madre revive y va directo a matar a su jefe, la cual después muere instantaneamente despues de matarlo.

Como actor, el es Henry Thomas de niño fue el protagonista de la película E.T el extraterrestre.

Su papel lo desarrolló a la perfección es el típico esposo controlador, tratando de ser el preferido de papá, adicto a las drogas y el papá más falso del mundo con su hija.

Zach Gillford encarnó el personaje de Roderick Usher Joven y bueno la verdad no me gustó su actuación, a veces parecía que no tenía esa pasión por volverse poderoso como se le veía a su hermana Madeline, quizás era por su frialdad que Zach se veía tan insípido, pero me pareció que siendo joven estaría más ensimismado con la idea de ser millonario y hacer lo que sea para obtenerlo,

Siempre se veía manipulado o impulsado por su hermana como que no resaltaba su personalidad, no me gustó para nada su actuación.

Carla Gugino interpreta el personaje de VERNA una mujer muy misteriosa que conocen Roderick y Madelane cuando están más adultos pero jóvenes en 1980 y luego en 2023 aparece justo en las escenas de los crímenes que asechan a la familia, volviéndose la responsable pero nadie puede dar con ella ya que desaparece y no deja rastros y aparte resulta imposible que después de tantos años se vea exactamente igual, pero hay algo que Roderick y Madeline han estado escondiendo.

Fue mi personaje favorito, su voz, su aspecto, el vestuario siempre de negro y elegante le quedó 10 de 10 a Carla Gugino.

Willa Fitzgerald interpreta el personaje de Madeline Usher joven, es una chica despiadada con sus objetivos sobre lo que quiere muy claros, no quiere hombres que le digan que hacer y posee un intelecto asombroso.

Fue mi otro personaje favorito, por muy mala que era, me gustó bastante.

She was my other favorite character, as bad as she was, I quite liked her.

Finalmente/Finally

Por último quiero recomendar que si eres una persona que le gusta el misterio y que la trama se resuelva al final ésta es una serie para ti, es decir, la serie me gustó mucho porque me mantuvo alerta, atrapada, ansiosa por saber por saber los porque de lo que estaba sucediendo, a la vez, me impactaba las escenas sangrientas y de muertes porque de verdad son muertes fatales y muy feas.

El maquillaje en la serie estuve muy bien hecho, creo que es una producción muy bien hecha como para mantenerla en tu mente todo el dia y querer ver los siguientes capítulos.

No es la mejor serie del mundo porque en si la trama literalmente es como un cuento tiene su principio y su fin que te lo explican completamente.

Pero de verdad que se disfruto...

Finally I want to recommend that if you are a person who likes mystery and that the plot is resolved at the end this is a series for you, I mean, I really liked the series because it kept me alert, trapped, anxious to know why what was happening, at the same time, I was shocked by the bloody scenes and deaths because they are really fatal and very ugly deaths.

The makeup in the series was very well done, I think it is a very well done production to keep it in your mind all day and want to see the next chapters.

It is not the best series in the world because the plot is literally like a story with a beginning and an end that is fully explained to you.

But I really enjoyed it...
