Ranma 1/2 Remake Review
Estamos hablando de un clásico que marcó una época en el anime y que dejó huella entre los jóvenes de la época, con sus personajes carismáticos, situaciones absurdas y ese toque de romance caótico característico de la serie. Muchas personas pensaban que el remake podría arruinarlo todo, sin embargo, después de haber visto esta primer temporada, me ha dejado buen sabor de boca y acá mis impresiones.
Empecemos por los puntos positivos, porque la verdad el remake hizo algunas cosas bastante bien a mi parecer. Lo primero que salta a la vista es la animación. La calidad visual es impresionante, con colores vibrantes y movimientos fluidos que le dan nueva vida a las escenas de acción y a las secuencias más divertidas. Uno de los puntos más altos de este nuevo Ranma es la calidad visual, es muy buena la verdad, la animación ha sido un 10/10, ha sido un verdadero placer visual cada capítulo pues todos han estado al mismo nivel. Además, los fondos están mucho más detallados y el estilo que han utilizado ha estado verdaderamente muy bueno además de que las transiciones entre escenas son más dinámicas.
Otro acierto del remake es la modernización de algunos aspectos de la historia. Si bien Ranma 1/2 siempre ha sido irreverente y atrevido, el original tenía ciertos elementos que hoy podrían resultar un poco problemáticos. No obstante, han sabido combinar la irreverencia del original y adaptarlo para que no esté tan fuera de lugar y no sea "cancelado" en las redes sociales, que la verdad ahora es un punto importante Dichos ajustes mantienen el humor característico de la serie, lo cual es un punto a su favor.
Un punto a favor de este remake es que han acortado los elementos innecesarios en los capítulos, lo cual hace la serie mucho más dinámica y fluida, se han recortado planos y secuencias que no aportaban nada a la serie. Han suprimido todos esos elementos de "relleno" y en mi opinión ha sido un total acierto.
Lo que extraño del original
Ahora, siendo sinceros, hay cosas del original que el remake no logró capturar del todo. Uno de los puntos más flojos, en mi opinión, es la música.
La banda sonora del remake no tiene ese mismo encanto pegajoso de las canciones originales. Siento que ahí se perdió una gran oportunidad de apelar a la nostalgia. El opening ha decir es verdad es bueno pero no está a la altura del opening original, que todos podiamos cantar de memoria. Lo pegadizo que era ese opening era único, punto flojo en este remake.
No puedo dejar de pensar en lo bueno que era ese opening jajaja, la verdad es que me sigue encantado y de vez en cuando lo escucho.
El tono también siendo que ha cambiado, y aunque es verdad que dije que estaba bien que los hubiesen adaptado a esta época, creo que se perdió ese tono único, original y absurdo de la serie. Han tratado de hacer un humor más "limpio" y no buscar como ofender, lo cual en mi opinión tiene puntos buenos y en contra, pues la verdad es que buscaba como partirme de risa con las situaciones que Ranma ofrecía y aunque se que algunas eran subidas de tono, esa era la esencia del anime.
Y quizás esto no sea totalmente acertado, pero siento que se diluyo un poco el papel de Akane en este remake al menos en estos capítulos, esperaba mucho más protagonismo de ella, la verdad que siempre me ha encantado Akane, el diseño de este remake se ve bellísima, pero esperaba verla mucho más en pantalla.
Original o Remake
No vengo a decir que uno sea mejor que el otro, para nada. Cada uno responde a las demandas de la época en la que fueron creadas. Como dije en el original hay muchas más situaciones irreverentes que hoy podrían ser chocantes para algunos,con su humor exagerado y esa vibra noventera que solo los clásicos tienen, el original es insuperable a mi parecer.
Este Remake trae una vibra mucho más fresca y moderna, con una calidad visual que es de lo mejor y hace verdadero honor a la historia original, el hecho que se mezclen estilos de animación hace que el apartado visual sea exageradamente bueno.
Ya sea el original o el remake ambos son muy buenos y estoy seguro que los seguiré disfrutando. Un saludo y un abrazo como siempre.

Many people were worried that the remake might ruin everything, but after watching the first season, I must say it left a good impression on me. So here are my thoughts.
The Positive Points
Let's start with the positive aspects because the remake really nailed some things, in my opinion. The first thing that stands out is the animation. The visual quality is impressive, with vibrant colors and fluid movements that give new life to the action scenes and the funniest moments.
One of the highlights of this new Ranma 1/2 is the animation — absolutely top-notch! Every episode was a visual pleasure, as they all maintained a consistent level of quality. The backgrounds are more detailed, and the transitions between scenes are more dynamic, which I really appreciated.
Another success is the modernization of certain aspects of the story. While Ranma 1/2 has always been irreverent and daring, the original had some elements that might feel problematic today. However, they managed to keep the irreverence of the original and adapt it to avoid being "canceled" on social media — which, let's face it, is important nowadays. These adjustments retain the series' characteristic humor, which is a big win.
A major plus is that they cut out unnecessary elements from the episodes, making the series more dynamic and fluid. They removed all the "filler" scenes, which I think was a great decision.
What I Miss from the Original
Now, to be honest, there are things the remake didn't quite capture. One of the weakest points, in my opinion, is the music.
The remake's soundtrack doesn't have that same catchy charm as the original songs. I feel like they missed a big chance to appeal to nostalgia. The new opening is decent but doesn't reach the level of the original, which we could all sing by heart. That unforgettable opening is unique, and that's definitely a weak point for the remake.
I still can't get over how good that original opening was, haha. I still listen to it every now and then.
The tone also feels a bit different. Although I mentioned that updating it for today's world was a good move, I think they lost that unique, original, and absurd tone that defined the series. They've tried to go for "cleaner" humor to avoid offending anyone, which has its pros and cons. Honestly, I was hoping for more laugh-out-loud moments from Ranma's chaotic situations.
And perhaps this isn't entirely accurate, but I feel like Akane's role was somewhat diluted in the remake, at least in these episodes. I expected her to have more screen time. She's always been one of my favorite characters, and while she looks gorgeous in this remake, I really hoped to see her more often.
Original or Remake?
I'm not here to say one is better than the other, not at all. Each version reflects the demands of the era in which it was created. The original had more irreverent situations that might be shocking today, with its exaggerated humor and that unmistakable 90s vibe that only classics have — and in my opinion, that makes it unbeatable.
This remake brings a fresher, more modern vibe with top-tier visual quality, doing true justice to the original story. The mix of animation styles makes the visual aspect outstanding.
Whether it's the original or the remake, both are fantastic, and I’m sure I'll keep enjoying them.
