[Movie review] [Eng | Esp] Sinister
Welcome my dear sinister travelers of the internet and thank you very much for having made a temporary stop in my post, as you already know I like to watch horror films from time to time because it is a genre that attracts my attention a lot due to the possibilities it contains, it is because So when I got a video on TikTok about the film "Sinister" I decided to see what it had to offer. Without further ado, get ready to investigate horrible tragedies because we are about to begin.
Bienvenidos mis queridos viajeros siniestros del internet y muchas gracias por haber hecho una parada temporal en mi post, como ya sabrán me gusta ver filmes de terror cada tanto debido a que es un género que llama mucho mi atención por las posibilidades que alberga, es por ello que cuando me salió un video en TikTok sobre la cinta "Sinister" decidí ver que tenía para ofrecer la misma. Sin más que agregar prepárense para investigar sobre tragedias horribles pues estamos por comenzar.
Sinister was released in 2012, directed by Scott Derrickson, produced by Automatik Entertainment, Blumhouse Productions, among others, and has a duration of 1 hour and 50 minutes. It is a horror film, the story focuses on a journalist who focuses on investigating terrible murders and then writing a book about it. It is due to this work that he moves with his family to a house in which a terrible murder occurred all members of the family, however, this investigation is different from the rest because the more he investigates about it, the more disturbing events occur to both him and his family, and all these strange events will begin after the I came across some video tapes with completely abominable events.
Sinister fue estrenada en 2012, dirigida por Scott Derrickson, producida por Automatik Entertainment, Blumhouse Productions, entre otras, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 50 minutos. Es un filme de terror, la historia se centra en un periodista que se enfoca en investigar terribles asesinatos para después escribir un libro sobre ello, es debido a dicha labor que se muda con su familia a una casa en la cual ocurrió un terrible asesinato de todos los miembros de la familia, no obstante, esta investigación es diferente al resto debido a que mientras más indaga sobre la misma más sucesos perturbadores le ocurren tanto a él como a su familia, siendo que todos estos eventos extraños darán inicio después de que se tope con unas cintas de videos con acontecimientos completamente abominables.

The soundtrack is good in general terms, it accompanies the different events in a decent way without being anything spectacular.
La banda sonora está bien a grandes rasgos, la misma acompaña de forma decente a los diferentes acontecimientos sin llegar a ser nada espectacular.
The construction of the world appears to be interesting without being so, throughout the film various elements are shown which are supposed to attract the viewer's attention but when analyzed they lack any iota of complexity, being that in the best of cases only They become details that seek to disturb in one way or another.
La construcción del mundo aparenta ser interesante sin serlo, a lo largo del filme se van mostrando diversos elementos los cuales se supone deberían llamar la atención del espectador pero al analizarlo estos carecen de cualquier ápice de complejidad, siendo que en el mejor de los casos solo llegan a ser detalles que buscan perturbar de una u otra forma.
The plot is curious, it focuses on the investigation of various tragedies and misfortunes which are the main focus of interest, however, said mystery does not have an organic development per se so there is no way for the viewer to anticipate somehow the following events so that this feeling of progression in suspense is totally absent. Narratively it is basic, as I mentioned previously its main attraction is supposed to be the suspense but this is worked in a somewhat crude way so it does not bother or anything that resembles it, it has curious scenes that do not become bizarre as such but rather Choosing to appeal to the viewer's imagination is a curious decision. The duration is a bit tedious, this is due to the slow pace that is maintained throughout the entire film, which is why it has several moments that feel boring to watch.
La trama es curiosa, la misma se centra en la investigación de diversas tragedias y desgracias las cuales son el principal foco de interés, no obstante, dicho misterio no tiene un desarrollo orgánico per se por lo que no hay forma de que el espectador pueda anticipar de alguna forma los siguientes acontecimientos por lo que dicho sentimiento de progresión en el suspenso se encuentra totalmente ausente. Narrativamente es básica, como mencioné previamente su principal atractivo se supone que es el suspenso pero este es trabajado de forma algo burda por lo que no llega a incomodar ni nada que se le asemeje, tiene escenas curiosas que no llegan a ser bizarras como tal sino que se opta por apelar a la imaginación del espectador, es una decisión curiosa. La duración es un poco tediosa, lo anterior se debe al ritmo lento que se mantiene a lo largo de todo el filme por lo que tiene varios momentos que se sienten aburridos de ver.
The characters don't have much that makes them stand out, even the protagonist who has the most screen time does not enjoy any kind of exploration or anything similar, in general, they are all quite forgettable.
Los personajes no tienen mucho que los haga destacar, incluso el protagonista que es el que más tiempo en pantalla tiene tampoco goza de ninguna clase de exploración ni nada que se le asemeje, en general, todos son bastante olvidables.
Sinister is a film that aspires to little so it is not surprising that in general terms it feels somewhat dull in some points, its main mystery has a decent development but it fails to completely capture the viewer's attention so it is prone to feel tedious. It is for all the above that it deserves 2 stars out of 7, it is nothing spectacular, however, at least it manages to entertain in a halfway decent way.
Sinister es un filme que aspira a poco por lo que no es de sorprender que a grandes rasgos se sienta algo sosa en algunos puntos, su misterio principal tiene un desarrollo decente pero no logra atrapar por completo la atención del espectador por lo que es propensa a sentirse tediosa. Es por todo lo anterior que merece 2 estrellas de 7, no es nada espectacular, no obstante, por lo menos logra entretener de una forma medianamente decente.
