Hola amigos de Hive, vengo a desbloquear recuerdos, bueno eso si tienes mínimo 30 años, pues la serie de la que quiero hablarles fue producida en 1974, y aunque yo nací en el 88 aun en los años 90 esta serie era transmitida por algún canal de televisión abierta en Venezuela, y como yo era amante de los dinosaurios no me la perdía. Se trata de The Land of the lost, lo que traduce algo como La tierra de los que se perdieron.

Esta serie fue producida por Sid y Marty Krofft dos hermanos cineastas reconocidos por explorar con efectos especiales en una época en la que había que ingeniárselas para ello, y es algo que podrán notar en esta serie. La trama de la historia parte de un hombre con sus dos hijos que llegan a otro mundo cuando se encontraban explorando una cascada, la cual atravesaron y cayeron una distancia que parecía interminable, y así llegaron a este extraño lugar que no parece ser el planeta tierra, pues el padre de los chicos asegura haber visto 3 lunas.

En el episodio 1 que es el que acabo de ver, nuestros amigos descubren este mundo extraño, lo primera que divisan son algunos dinosaurios herbívoros lo cual les genera mucha curiosidad, y de pronto aparece un tiranosaurio Rex que les obliga a huir del lugar. Y mientras exploran consiguen avistar a lo lejos un grupo de primates humanoides que intenta crear fuego, a los que el Tiranosuario Rex persigue y uno de ellos se fractura la pierna, por lo que los chicos se ven obligados a ayudarlo a escapar, y así es como Will y Holly conocen a Cha-ka, un Puku quien se convierte en su amigo en esta gran aventura lleno de peligros, conformados no solo por dinosaurios carnívoros , sino también una raza de humanoides reptilianos que no tienen buenas intenciones y se convierten en persecutores de nuestros amigos y los Puku.

The Land of the Lost tiene mucho que valorar si volvemos a 1974 , increíble que estemos hablando de hace 50 años, Dios mio como ha pasado el tiempo. Pero los hermanos Korfft hicieron un gran trabajo de Stop Motion , es decir movimiento cuadro por cuadro utilizando fotografías, para animar los modelos de dinosaurios cuyo concepto visual aun era muy distinto del actual, que fue en gran parte definido y dado a conocer por la película Jurassic Park, por lo que estos modelos de dinosaurio utilizado pueden hacer ruido a los espectadores actuales, pero para los que vimos la serie antes de Jurassic Park, era simplemente increíble.

En cuanto a los escenarios podemos observar también los efectos especiales que involucran entornos a escala, es fácil darse cuenta cuando por ejemplo no es una rio sino un pequeño arroyo o incuso una caída de agua en maqueta o las rocas se nota que son artillería de cartón o algún material duro. Diría que si no hubiese visto esta serie de niño los efectos especiales son terribles, pero como aun en los 90 quedé impactado por ello, sé que no es de subestimar solo porque ahora por ejemplo con escribir a la IA lo que queremos ya tenemos una escena increíble.

En cuanto a la fotografía debo decir que hay unas imágenes que me fascinan, algunas imágenes parecen un lienzo de fantasía, como el atardecer con las 3 lunas que se ven desde este misterioso planeta.

Las actuaciones no son tan buenas, sobre todo por que trabjaban mucho sin ver algunas elementos pues eran incluidos posteriormente con efectos especiales, entonces podía notarse como realmente no estaban viendo lo que allí se muestra. Pero en líneas generales está bien, además esta serie y otros de los hermanos Krofft solían ser de bajo presupuesto por lo que no contaban con grandes actores cotizados pero sin duda Kathy Coleman como Holly, Wesley Eure como Will y Spencer Milligan como Rick lograron conectar por lo menos conmigo para no generalizar respecto a las audiencias.

Sé que con tantas películas en Netflix, que nos nos engañemos, hay tantas películas y series que aveces pasamos más tiempo eligiendo que viendo, es difícil darle espacio hay una serie de bajo presupuiesto de los 70, es solo para nostálgicos, pero si les llama la atención los invito a revisarla, y al menos a ver un episodio por cultural general, y para que vena como era antes.

The plot of the story is about a man and his two children who arrive in another world when they were exploring a waterfall, which they crossed and fell a distance that seemed endless, and so they came to this strange place that does not seem to be the planet earth, as the father of the boys claims to have seen 3 moons.

In episode 1 which is the one I just saw, our friends discover this strange world, the first thing they see are some herbivorous dinosaurs which makes them very curious, and suddenly a Tyrannosaurus Rex appears and forces them to flee the place. And while they explore they manage to spot in the distance a group of humanoid primates trying to create fire, which the Tyrannosaurus Rex chases and one of them breaks his leg, so the boys are forced to help him escape, and that's how Will and Holly meet Cha-ka, a Puku who becomes their friend in this great adventure full of dangers, conformed not only by carnivorous dinosaurs, but also a race of reptilian humanoids that have no good intentions and become persecutors of our friends and the Puku.

The Land of the Lost has a lot to appreciate if we go back to 1974 , unbelievable that we are talking about 50 years ago, my God how time has passed. But the Korfft brothers did a great job of Stop Motion, i.e. frame by frame movement using photographs, to animate the dinosaur models whose visual concept was still very different from today, which was largely defined and made known by the movie Jurassic Park, so these dinosaur models used may make noise to today's viewers, but for those who saw the series before Jurassic Park, it was just amazing.

As for the scenery we can also observe the special effects involving scaled environments, it is easy to notice when for example it is not a river but a small stream or even a waterfall in scale model or the rocks you can tell they are cardboard artillery or some hard material. I would say that if I had not seen this series as a child the special effects are terrible, but as even in the 90's I was shocked by it, I know that it is not to be underestimated just because now for example by writing to the AI what we want we already have an incredible scene.

As for the photography I must say that there are some images that fascinate me, some images look like a fantasy canvas, like the sunset with the 3 moons that can be seen from this mysterious planet.

The performances are not so good, especially because they worked a lot without seeing some elements because they were included later with special effects, then you could notice how they were not really seeing what is shown there. But in general it's ok, besides this series and others of the Krofft brothers used to be low budget so they didn't have big quoted actors but certainly Kathy Coleman as Holly, Wesley Eure as Will and Spencer Milligan as Rick managed to connect at least with me not to generalize about the audiences.

I know that with so many movies on Netflix, let's face it, there are so many movies and series that sometimes we spend more time choosing than watching, it's hard to make room for a low budget 70's series, it's just for nostalgics, but if it catches your attention I invite you to check it out, and at least watch an episode for general culture, and to see how it used to be.
