”I am Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, Duke of Arrakis. The Hand of God be my witness, I am the Voice from the Outer World! I will lead you to PARADISE!” -Paul Atreides

’Dune: Part Two (2024)’ is an epic sci-fi movie that was distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It was directed and produced by Denis Villeneuve. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts. This movie is based on the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert that already has a previous installment in 2021. It starred some iconic actors like Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem, Christopher Walken, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub, and our Stellan Skarsgård.

The plot continues right from the ending of the previous installment which leads us to how Paul Atriedes, son of Letos of the House Atreides and his mother Jessica unites with the Fremen as they seek shelter while plotting their revenge against the House of Harkonnen who destroy their house and murder his father. Will Paul get his revenge?

My Review And Rating.

THIS WAS PHENOMENAL!

The feeling this movie left me with was a powerful one and ‘the chills’ kind of feeling. I thought I had seen it all when I watched the initial sequel in 2021, but it was just the only beginning. For a few minutes after I'd finished watching this movie, I had to calm down so I could wrap my head around what I just watched. My heart was beating fast because of how this movie ended. I think in this movie, the old Hollywood that we knew in the earlier 2000s came back once more.

To be honest, when I heard that this movie was about to go into the box office I decided not to have great expectations for it considering how poorly Hollywood has performed lately. I had no hope for this movie, I didn't want to believe that this movie would come out a masterpiece. However, Hollywood proved me wrong. This movie surpassed my expectations in many ways.

The part of one Dune felt epic, it was like Game of Thrones filmed in space, but this part two is a masterpiece, it was epic and grandeur. The word building was beautiful and phenomenal! The politics at play, the act of revenge that was served cold, the war, the revelation of the past and how it is interwoven with the whole story.

’Dune : Part Two' started from where the last sequel stopped. It follows how Paul Atriedes and his mother survived the massacre and went in search of the Fremen. This movie was two distinct movies put together in one. It was slow and grounded in the first half because it majorly revolved around how Paul learns the way of Fremen, and exploring the lives of the Fremen. Then the movie began to become intense as a web of conspiracies was untangled. Though we were made to believe that the Emperor was the main antagonist, it was not the case.

The plot was well written, considering that the storyline and world building is complex. It was written well so the viewers can easily assimilate and understand the whole thing. The scene arrangements were excellently done. All the backstories were seamlessly blended in along with scene arrangements so well that no backstory felt out of place.

The cast of this movie were exceptional. Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson were all back with the same energy from the previous sequel. Though Timothee was calm in the previous installment, now he undergoes a transformation from being a royal young boy to a man who claims his two powerful birthrights and how he come fully into his character. I enjoyed his performance the most, his charisma, his zeal, and his fiery energy. Ferguson didn't disappoint at all. She was fantastic all through.

Stellan Skarsgård, I could believe my eyes when I realized he was the one under a costume that took eight hours to make and took 2 hours to take off. The Skarsgard family are the most underrated talents in the film industry. His performance was cold, brutal and ruthless. Then we have Austin Butler, the guy whose head reminded me of eggs. Haha, I don't know but that was how I saw his head. I enjoyed his role, he was the psychopathic Baron Vladimir Harkonnen's youngest nephew. Though his scenes were not much he brought with him an unforgettable energy and performance.

Also, I was excited to see Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin reappear again.

The visuals of this movie are phenomenal and brilliant. The authenticity of all scenes made it feel as if characters were really in the environment, rather than a studio created background. The CGI was absolutely amazing. The sandworms were gigantic and magnificent creatures. I was beginning to imagine riding one myself. The costumes were good but the fighting stunts were not that impressive to me.

Finally, let's all acknowledge Hans Zimmer for creating a masterpiece soundtrack for this movie. It was befitting and it also sent chills down my spine by just hearing it. Just like ’The Gladiator’ movie soundtracks. Iconic! Also, Denis Villeneuve did an amazing job. His directorial style was impeccable. I can't wait to see what he does with the other sequels.

Rating this movie, I will give it a 9 out of 10 stars. I enjoyed watching this movie. It is epic, electrifying, thrilling and a masterpiece. I would recommend that you see the movie if you haven't.

I won't read your post today, as I don't want you to reveal too much 😜,.... but I will after seeing the film, which I have been eagerly awaiting for almost two years. I have to admit that the first part left me with mixed feelings, because just as the action was getting starting, it was time to wait for the next part. My colleague told me that I would have to wait for the next part again 😬

I don't know what's to come, but maybe it's about the young protagonist's mishandling of power (kind of like Anakin in Star Wars) that would provide a lot of future plot for several sequels! :)

Kind regards @esther-emmanuel friend!!!

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm looking forward to it! I love the cast, and although I didn't understand the first one instantly, it does seem like a universe with a lot to exploit, I haven't read the books either, but I really like the story! ❤️

Yes, Dune has a complicated snd complex world building. I think in the second part, anything you are confused about will be cleared up. I hope you enjoy it when you eventually see it. Thank you for the visit. I appreciate your comment.

It may sound a little strange, but before and at the moment of watching Dune Part Two I had no expectations, it is probably one of those few movies where I know I will like it and I was right even though the first hour seemed heavy, but the second and third acts are extremely good, especially everything related to political issues, war, religion, use of power and of course, betrayal.

I hope to see it again soon, but I want to see the two movies, one after the other because I am convinced that the story will be better.

I agree with you. The third act were simple the best of the movie. It didn't really seem like a 2hrs+ movie for me. If you see it again, the story will be better and you get to discover more subplot that you missed during the first watch. I will see it again no doubt. I appreciate your visit and comment. Thank you and have a great day ahead.
