Guilty Pleasure At It's Peak - An All-Night Binge Watch

Ever had to see a movie through the night and sleep almost half the next day?

Well, I guess that is one of the questions the prompt is directed at and I'm one of those who have done it countless times. Now that I think about it, I've outgrown that habit as I can't stay too long watching a series on a stretch as I easily do before. But for this prompt, I'll have to relive some moments in the past.

From the many times I've had to see movies through the night and sleep half the next day, I can remember one particular night because it was with my siblings. We had just bought a new series on our way back home, to play on dad's new DVD player. You know that excitement of having new items after a long period of old things, yeah! That was it for us.

Dad was out on a week long work so we were the only ones at home. We got home, did all that's needed to do as fast as we could and as early as 8pm we were all seated waiting for the series "Four Gods" to begin.

Oh let's not talk about the quiet mode we all went into and the excitement in our eyes as we look at our TV with all the curiousity we had in our hearts. That moment was memorable but not as memorable as when we got deep into the series and the sweet storyline, say 5-6 episodes.

Normally, we'd be hooked on any movie with comedy or super powers but the series "Four Gods" had both and it's a movie made from our favourite, South Korea. So you could actually picture us not feeling sleepy at 2am (6 hours since we started seeing the series).

One thing that made that long session of binge watching more memorable for me? We made it seem like we're watching the series at a movie theatre, made sure we bought some snacks on our way back along with the dvd lol. Turned off the lights in the room and covered on our biggest clothes and sat together for hours focusing on a storyline.

Since none of us has seen the series before, there was less talking but a lot of laughter, we also felt the thrills when the story gets dark or scary and at some point, we would all be wondering aloud what happens next. Yes, the film was that interesting.

Surprisingly, we didn't feel sleepy until it was close to 4am but since we had nowhere to be that day, we forced ourselves to continue. It was a 16 episode series and we almost finished it to the end before deciding to sleep at 7am.

Guess what! We finished the series immediately we woke up that day as there was light. Oh yeah! We turned on a power Generator for that long session of binge watching, general power supply couldn't have done us such a favor at that time, if you know you know.

So I think that was my longest so far even though I've gone through it more than once lol. What about you, what's your longest? Share it with the digi-prompt here.

Damn! I don’t think I have 😂 maybe in my younger years? But no, I don’t remember staying up to see a movie all night

Haha I guess we are not many who did that 😅

I totally get what you mean and have stayed up all night seeing a movie. Mostly anime sha...lol before I came across K-drama lol

Yet to see an anime movie, will try it someday 😅

12 hours watching a TV series is wild. How long ago was this, though? You and your siblings must reminisce the moments from that night and how much sleep you had to get afterwards.

It's over 7 years already, how time flies and I still remember those days 😅
Oh we didn't sleep for long since we needed to eat for recovery 🤣

I think everyone has done this, at least once in a lifetime. I remember when my bro bought a new PS game and I played it throughout the night 😂

You know what I was saying throughout? If you guys were asked to use the generator to do something else, say study or something, you probably would have found an excuse😂😂

I can relate, I can charge my laptop to play games but when it comes to studies, I forget that laptops have to even be charged 🤣

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh yes! You totally can relate 😂
