It's been really cool to get back into the Zone, but I'm still not sure quite how I feel about it. I think performance issues were distracting me at first. Those are "sorted" for me, now I'm just waiting for the atmosphere to suck me in. #Stalker2
The new one is poorly optimized and quite demanding. You might be able to revisit the old one, that’s like 18 years old now or something. I’d imagine it could run on just about anything these days.
It certainly has performance issues on GeForce Now, and the bug with the world having no textures after a reload is annoying, but I'm still enjoying the atmosphere. Oh well, I survived the Limansk Bug Minefield in Clear Sky so I guess I was taught to be a patient stalker.
The annoying part is that when you pause the update on Steam it restarted to 0 and I have to suffer once again. I need to find a place with 1GB speed 🙃

I've been curious about them, I get the theory behind it in hopes to farm rewards but it clearly isn't working for them? every spam post I see thankfully has no votes or downvotes only 😂 lets hope the bot owners realise its a losing game soon enough.
They are old Splinterlands bots that lost any usecases in the game over time. Somebody has tens of thousands of these.
If that person behind used them in a small scale, they could actually generate some rewards. If the chain is flooded with such fake posts, people get cautios and start hunting them down.
Greed always ruins it, this is why we can't ever have anything nice hahaha
That's some good information, though I never would've guessed it's the old SPL bots going wild with the spam, I hope the rewards it reaps in are nothing compared to the server costs to run these bots
I guess there's no server costs, it's just a script that copy pastes old content. You only need a laptop with posting keys and user names, plus that script. Within a single hour, you could likely post like 10,000 times, using just that laptop with almost zero running costs.
It could get a bit tricky if you were to take the profits out.
Ahh, I'm not too technical with things like this, didn't realise it could be done so easily that's very worrying for the potential harm it could cause in terms of just sheer spam around every community and corner of hive 🤔
It's currently my daily routine to nuke them and working together with hivewatchers to actively monitor everything what happen on chain and registrations. it's time comsuming and i'm also nuking with with my up power aswell. would love to see others use their DV power aswell.
I wouldn't bother if they have no rewards, and most don't, there's just too many of them. Personally I'd save my DV mana for spam accounts that do have rewards

Thinking of ways to onboard users to an anonymous DAO using Hats Protocol and G1 Web of Trust. i think using a combination of these two for initial onboarding then a Reputation system (some FOSS ones available on Hats i think) could be sufficient so sock-puppets r insignificant

It's been really cool to get back into the Zone, but I'm still not sure quite how I feel about it. I think performance issues were distracting me at first. Those are "sorted" for me, now I'm just waiting for the atmosphere to suck me in. #Stalker2
Stalker is one of the game I wanted to play but I am not sure if my current laptop supports it, I often just watch walkthrough 😅
The new one is poorly optimized and quite demanding. You might be able to revisit the old one, that’s like 18 years old now or something. I’d imagine it could run on just about anything these days.
It certainly has performance issues on GeForce Now, and the bug with the world having no textures after a reload is annoying, but I'm still enjoying the atmosphere. Oh well, I survived the Limansk Bug Minefield in Clear Sky so I guess I was taught to be a patient stalker.
The annoying part is that when you pause the update on Steam it restarted to 0 and I have to suffer once again. I need to find a place with 1GB speed 🙃

I've been curious about them, I get the theory behind it in hopes to farm rewards but it clearly isn't working for them? every spam post I see thankfully has no votes or downvotes only 😂 lets hope the bot owners realise its a losing game soon enough.
They are old Splinterlands bots that lost any usecases in the game over time. Somebody has tens of thousands of these.
If that person behind used them in a small scale, they could actually generate some rewards. If the chain is flooded with such fake posts, people get cautios and start hunting them down.

That's some good information, though I never would've guessed it's the old SPL bots going wild with the spam, I hope the rewards it reaps in are nothing compared to the server costs to run these bots
I guess there's no server costs, it's just a script that copy pastes old content. You only need a laptop with posting keys and user names, plus that script. Within a single hour, you could likely post like 10,000 times, using just that laptop with almost zero running costs.
It could get a bit tricky if you were to take the profits out.
Ahh, I'm not too technical with things like this, didn't realise it could be done so easily that's very worrying for the potential harm it could cause in terms of just sheer spam around every community and corner of hive 🤔

If I was up at 2AM making fish tacos, I doubt I'd take pictures. I've been seeing/hearing a lot of talk about fish tacos recently. I think it's time for me to get/make some!
The quick-and-dirty midnight craving fixing method: season any basic white fish fillets with taco seasoning. Pan-fry in oil for about 5 minutes per side until it flakes apart. Place on tortilla. Top with coleslaw and taco sauce. Wrap and devour messily.

Thinking of ways to onboard users to an anonymous DAO using Hats Protocol and G1 Web of Trust. i think using a combination of these two for initial onboarding then a Reputation system (some FOSS ones available on Hats i think) could be sufficient so sock-puppets r insignificant

I am aware of some Hive users that have in excess of 10k accounts. I suspect it would be trivially easy for them to create 5, or even 500, referrers.
The system i'm attempting to design is not specifically for Hive nor would it be built on Hive, although Hive could choose to adopt it for certain aspects of governance.
