As a horror lover I couldn't help but talk about two films from the new school of horror that restored my faith in the genre, which had fallen off a bit, so here we go:
Como amante del terror no podía evitar hablar de dos películas de la nueva escuela del terror que devolvieron mi fe en el género, el cual había decaído bastante, así que aquí vamos:
El Conjuro
A family decides to make a new start by moving into a new house, but problems start the first night, paranormal events begin to terrorise the family, when Ed and Lorraine Warren make an appearance and go with their team to the house to try to help them, discovering that the demon that inhabits the house has the mother.
Una familia decide tener un nuevo comienzo mudándose a una nueva casa, pero los problemas inician la primera noche, sucesos paranormales empiezan a aterrorizar a la familia, es cuando Ed y Lorraine Warren hacen aparición y van con su equipo hasta la casa para intentar ayudarlos, descubriendo que el demonio que habita la casa tiene a la madre.
This was the 3rd James Wan film I saw (the second one being aware that he was the director, I had previously seen Dead Silence without knowing it was his) and I was not disappointed. The well crafted features of the film, such as the cinematography, the lighting, the use of shadows in strategic places, the performances and the compositions of the scenes were what grabbed me about the film. A total marvel, highly recommended.
Esta fue la 3era película de James Wan que vi (la segunda siendo consiente de que él era el director, anteriormente había visto el Títere sin saber que era suya) y la verdad es que no me decepcionó. Las características de la película, bien trabajadas como la fotografía, la iluminación, el uso de las sombras en sitios estratégicos, las actuaciones y las composiciones de las escenas fue lo que me atrapó de la película. Una total maravilla, altamente recomendada
El Conjuro
The first film I saw in a long time that terrified me to the point of making me feel uncomfortable at night before I went to sleep. Dalton is the eldest son of the family who moves with his parents and siblings a new house, where after a domestic accident, he is apparently in a coma, however, what his parents don't know is that Dalton has a hidden ‘ability or gift’, he can split himself! That is to say, his soul can leave his body and this fact brings problems to the family because ghosts and demons want Dalton's body to be stronger in the plane of the living and it is thanks to a Medium that they try to save him, in addition this medium reveals a family secret hidden for many years.
La primera película que vi en mucho tiempo y que me aterrorizó al punto de hacerme sentir incómoda por la noche antes de dormir. Dalton es el hijo mayor de la familia quien se muda con sus padres y hermanos a una nueva casa, donde tras un accidente doméstico, queda aparentemente en coma, sin embargo, lo que sus padres no saben es que Dalton tiene una "habilidad o don" oculto, ¡Puede desdoblarse! es decir, su alma puede salir de su cuerpo y este hecho le trae problemas a la familia pues, fantasmas y demonios quieren el cuerpo de Dalton para ser más fuertes en el plano de los vivos, y es gracias a una Medium que intentan salvarlo, además esta médium revela un secreto familiar oculto desde hace muchos años.
As in the previous film, the resources used by James Wan with this film are spectacular, one of his hallmarks is analogue horror, typical of Asian culture (where he comes from) so he uses it very well as well as easter eggs throughout the film that you must discover for yourself. If you want to spend a good moment of terror, this would be a very good option.
Como en la película anterior, los recursos empleados por James Wan con esta película son espectaculares, uno de sus sellos es el terror analógico, propio de la cultura asiática (de donde proviene él) así que lo emplea muy bien además de easter eggs a lo largo de la cinta que debes descubrir por ti mismo. Si quieres pasar un buen momento de terror esta sería una muy buena opción
Historias Cruzadas
Finally I want to recommend this one, as it is one of my favourite films and I never tire of watching it every time I have the chance, it is about The Help. In the 60's Skeeter, a young journalist after becoming aware of the mistreatment of black people and being raised by a black maid, decides to take action and write a book with anonymous stories of black maids, which tell the mistreatment to which they are subjected, however it is hard work to convince them and also publish the book. Even with everything going against her, Skeeter succeeds, but not without going through some difficult times.
Por último quiero recomendar esta, ya que es una de mis películas preferidas y no me canso de verla cada vez que tengo oportunidad, se trata de vidas cruzadas. En la época de los 60's Skeeter, una joven periodista tras tomar consciencia de los maltratos hacia las personas de color y siendo criada por una mujer negra, decide tomar cartas en el asunto y escribir un libro con historias anónimas de sirvientas de color, las cuales cuentan los maltratos a los que son sometidas, sin embargo es un trabajo arduo convencerlas y asimismo publicar el libro. Aún con todo en contra, Skeeter lo logra no sin antes pasar por algunos momentos difíciles
It's a film that makes you think a lot, it makes you laugh and cry, it's tremendously entertaining and you connect very well with all the characters, I really love this film and I hope you see it.
Es una película que te hace reflexionar mucho, te hace reír y llorar, es tremendamente entretenida y conectas muy bien con todos los personajes, de verdad amo esta película y espero que la vean
