Axel Foley is back in a second installment of the Beverlyhills Cop series. Beverlyhills Cop II is no less action and laugh packed then the first.

The opening scene shows a jewelry store robbery taking place in Beverlyhills, led by an un-identified blond female played by Brigitte Nielsen. The heist goes fairly smooth and before the thieves leave, the leader is shown laying an envelope with an A topped with a rose on the floor.

We then see Axle Foley (played by Eddie Murphy) getting dressed and heading out. His case this time is one he has been working on for six months where he is tasked with going undercover in a credit card fraud sting. It is during the time he is waiting to meet with his supplier that he catches a news snippet from tv that his old pal Captain Bogomil, from the BPD has been critically wounded.

Once his contact shows up they have a confrontation as he has brought his nephew with him. The nephew is the same guy from the beginning of the first movie pertaining to the cigarette laden delivery truck. Axle calls him a cop and walks out after telling his contact to let him know when they can attempt the deal again.

Axle heads back to the precinct and talks to Jeffrey (played by Paul Riser), from the first movie and tells him that he has something he has to do and needs the coworker to cover for him. Once all is settled Axle heads back to Beverlyhills to find out who shot his friend and why.

Axle reconnects with Sargent Tagggert (played by John Ashton) and Rosewood (Played by Judge Reinhold) and the three of them proceed to investigate the crime. During the investigation, Axle discovers that Bogomil (played by Ronny Cox) was investigating what Beverlyhills has dubbed The Alphabet Robberies.

Along the way as Axle investigates he discovers who is behind The robberies and why, and why Bogomil was attacked. As in the first movie this clever and resourceful Detroit police officer. Gets his man.

Eddie Murphy truly shines in his role as Axle Foley. I loved the further development of the character's. My favorite character development had to be the cunning and quippy Detective Billy Rosewood, who seems to have an affinity for more powerful weapons as the movie continues, leading his partner, Taggert flabbergasted.

I would have to say, so far this is my favorite due to the further development of the characters. I hope this will prompt you to want to see these two movies. I look forward to what you thought and who you found an affinity for.

The story looks interesting, like finding out who did what with a detective mind will also make the audience have thoughts of it. Whenever I watch a detective movie I also become like one lol.
