Eddie Murphy returns as Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F!
After a nearly 20-year wait, fans of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise can breathe a sigh of relief: Axel Foley is back! Eddie Murphy will reprise the iconic role of the rebellious and charismatic detective in the fourth film of the series, titled "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F".
The film will bring Foley back to Beverly Hills, where his daughter's life is in danger. Along with her, Foley will team up with a new partner (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and old friends Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and John Taggart (John Ashton) to uncover a conspiracy and bring the criminals to justice.
The production of the film was entrusted to Belgian directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, known for the success of the drama "Black" presented at the 2019 Toronto Film Festival.
Eddie Murphy was extremely selective about the script for Beverly Hills Cop 4. Although he refused to get involved with the third film due to his dissatisfaction with the story, the actor recently stated that he finally found the right script to relaunch franchise.
The film will be set in Foley's hometown of Detroit, offering a return to the series' roots.
