I bring to you yet another mesmerizing action-horror-thriller which aired from season 1 to season 2 between 2022 and 2023. I am not a true fan of Cha Eun-Woo and the female lead of this drama, but I was drawn to this series because of the remarkable, compelling, and stunning performances by the cast.

Plotline Summary:
This story centers on the three protagonist characters whose fates are intertwined. They must work together to confront the menacing forces endangering the world and humanity.

Lee Da-hee, cast in the role of Won Mi-ho, was the daughter of a very rich conglomerate family. She was sent to a place called Jeju Island as a result of a scandal. Mi-ho was sent off to become a teacher on Jeju Island, using that time to reflect and evolve into a better person. Mi-ho, while she stayed on Jeju Island for a while, discovered she was the reincarnation of Won Jeong—a priestess prophesied to be the one to put an end to the evil forces threatening humanity. While she was on Jeju Island, Mi-ho remembered who she was as Won Jeong from her past life and started training herself to awaken her powers, learning more and understanding about her destiny.

Her destiny attracted danger to her from these lurking demons, that knew who she was. Almost being attacked by a demon, she was saved by Kim Nam-gil, who featured as Van. Van was a half-human, half-demon who was cursed with immortality.
Even though he was a half-human, half-demon, his mission was to hunt down demons and protect humans(demon hunter). While on this mission, Van met Mi-ho and then explained to her that he was her protector and how they are connected together by prophecy.

Van's journey in hunting down demons became tougher as his brother, who was the antagonist of this drama worked against everything van fought for. Van's brother(Gung-tan)played by Song Joon was a half-human, half-demon also whose initial mission was to protect humans from demons(a demon hunter). Van and Gung-tan shared a brotherly bond, but their bond started wavering when Gung-tan developed deep-rooted hatred for humans.
His hatred for humans grew when he discovered people feared him and his brother—Van, and only used them as tools instead of accepting them as protectors. Their bond shattered when Van had to kill his brother Gung-tan, whose demonic powers were out of control. Van stabbed Gung-tan, believing he was dead but unbeknownst to Van, his brother survived and vowed to use his demonic power to destroy the world and humanity.

When Gung-tan found out how dearly Van protected Mi-ho and how she was the reincarnation of the priestess(Wonjeong), he knew she would disrupt his plans in destroying the world and fought tooth and nail throughout the series to stop her from fulfilling destiny.

Another character introduced was Cha-Eun-woo, featuring as Priest Johan. Johan was sent by a Catholic Church to Jeju Island to fight against the rising demonic activity. During his mission, he teamed up with Van to fight demons and protect Mi-ho, according to the prophecy, even though Johan had a bit of doubt because Van was a half-demon.

Season 2 wrapped up with Van sacrificing his life to end the battle between humans and demons, Van’s sacrifices also resulted in bringing down his brother with him, who had fully embraced his dark side, bringing an end to his destructive pursuit.
After his death, Mi-ho successfully created a barrier with her powers to keep the demons separated from humans, even though she was heartbroken by Van's death. Jo-han left Jeju and went back to the Catholic Church.

Asides any other thing, everyone did justice to their characters

It’s an excellent drama series that beautifully weaves together themes of fantasy, horror, comedy. One episode will convince you. Both seasons are available to watch on Netflix.

Thank you very much for your continuous support 🙏

I don't know if Cha Eun Woo was in his best form here. I started and couldn't continue after the first episode. Is it truly worth watching?

Although Cha Eun Woo stepped out from his usual character in the Island Kdrama, but it is truly worth watching. It felt good seeing him take up a role that isn’t a genre of romance.

I think I have never watched any Korean drama series.

This review will be helpful for the drama lovers!

I think you should try it out also. But would you have the time because of your profession? 😁
