The movie started with Bruce asking God why he hate him. An interviewing on the koruski Family bakery was on, the people of buffalo was invited to witness the largest cookie ever made and about to break the standing record of 8 feet 7 inch and if the succeed it will prove once and for all that the koruski family has much much free time said bruce. As the large cookie was measured and people look with anticipation bruce shouted 10 feet 4 inch a new record with his very own punch line ( and thats the way the cookie crumbs)
After watching it several times with his girl friend grace though she said it was good bruce was not convinced because he want the ancor position he believes that the job is right their but he cant reach it because when ever he is giving that kind of interview like the koruski family he has to act like a total jack despite grace not seeing anything wrong with making people laugh.
The next morning after waking up hears from the news that the buffalo sabers lost last night of course the will lose the are my team says bruce later he drives grace to the Annual blood drive where he swore to never let them take his blood because the blood is made to b inside the body after she gave him a bead that the kids gave her saying he needs it more,I hope it powerful i will need a freaking miracle to get to work no time says bruce all to be stuck in a huge traffic (hahahaha) anyway fast forward to getting to the office though late still joined in the meeting,later he was given a opportunity to run a live show not knowing it was still ancord by but finding out unleashed his frustration in his own very funny way which cost him his job at that point every body was his enemy especially God after a little argument with grace he stormed out and drives out while on the road he decided to pray but while on it his car hit a little hole which made him leave the correct part with that he had a little accident on coming out of his car he threw away his bead and said smite Almighty smiter he keep pouring out his feelings after all that he received a pager from 555-0123 which he ignored but the next morning the same number kepp paging him which he kepp ignoring it got to the point where he threw the pager away but on come down with his dog he found out the the number is still paging him and it moved him to call the number which ask him to come that the hace a job for him on get their he meet the cleaner who ask him for help and he promised to help on the 7th of the 7th and the clearner promise to hold him to it and on getting to the 7 floor he saw the same clearner who turned out to be who wants to offer him the job,fast forward to when he told him he was God and that he wants to give him his work which bruce never believe at first but and said that God sucks and ran out from the building after testing his new found powers like dividing his coffee he finally believes
Fast forward to telling him the rules of God's power
Their are only two rules you can't tell anybody you are God and you cant mess with free will, he asked why and God said yes you can and thats the beauty of it,and God said his on vacation take care of course Bruce asked if god take Vacation which he answered ever had about the dark ages and beside he is covered.
Fast forward to how he used his power giving himself all the exclusive and making his enemy lose his job and giving himself the anchor position but in the process lose his girlfriend due to the attention his getting,due to the prayers being to much he decide to make a file in his computer and said yes to all prayers which letter caused chaos and problems proving that people dont really know what dlthe really need, later God took take back control to bring things back to normal,after Bruce have an accident that requires blood he made up with his girlfriend and decided to go with what God plans for him letting his co worker take back anchor position and him back to the street where he makes people laugh and seeing the importance of storing blood after one save his life
