When The Phone Rings (2024)
Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome π€
I finally got to watch a K-drama series after about 7 months or more. I have a lot of kdramas in my watchlist, but I have not had the time to watch any. I had little time last week, so I decided to start by watching one of the most recent in my watchlist.
Summary
When the Phone Rings is a Korean drama that consists of twelve episodes. It was released in November 2024.
The series is about Baek Sa-eon (Yoo Yeon-seok), a young rising politician who is the presidential spokesperson, and his mute wife, Hong Hee-joo (Chae Soo-bin), who is a sign language interpreter.
They were all going about their separate lives; they barely talked to each other until Hong Hee-joo was kidnapped, and the kidnapper called Baek Sa-eon on an encrypted phone to inform him that his wife had been kidnapped, but Baek Sa-eon ended the call and called his mother-in-law to know the whereabouts of his wife, and the mother-in-law, not knowing what was happening, told him that his wife was at home with her having dinner, and when they are done, she will send her home.
The kidnapper called him back with the phone on speaker and a knife to Hong Hee-joo's neck while she was driving slowly, threatening him that he was going to kill his wife, and Baek Sa-eon didn't budge because he thought his wife was at home, so he told the kidnapper to call him back when he has the wife's corpse.
Hong Hee-joo was hurt and heartbroken by her husband's words and thought to herself that he didn't really care about her; out of anger, she increased the speed of the car she was driving, which led to them having an accident. The phone of the kidnapper fell from the car, so she took it and started threatening her husband with calls, but this time around she was requesting for a divorce. Meanwhile, the husband thought it was still the kidnapper that was making the calls.

Review and Rating
I personally like the series because of its captivating plot, which explores different themes ranging from marriage, trust, betrayal, and secrets. The acting was also excellent; all the actors played their roles perfectly well. I like how tense the atmosphere of the movie is; the suspense, mystery, and drama just have a way of making one stay glued to their screen.
The movie is a family-friendly one; I would recommend it. For the rating, I would rate it 8/10.
THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END π€
Yay
Finally π
That's nice.
I enjoyed watching this movie as well.
Sometimes, we have to calm down and understand people, especially their intentions.
Lol π. Yea, the movie is nice and last a lot one can learn from it
Yes, true.
Welcome to our K-drama club oπππ
I absolutely love this movie. It is one of the best in 2024. The twist and turns of each scene kept me glued. Especially when Hong Hee Joo encountered an accident. I cried a lot. I also joined them in searching for her but it was in my dream oooo.
The faking his death part was unexpected but I'm glad that they finally reconnected and the movie had it's happy ending.
I also liked that his wicked stand in mom was sentenced to death. Her role made motherhood look terrible, mtchewww.
Anyway, this movie was great to watch
Yea, the movie is great. But you took the movie too serious ooo, you even cried a lot ahhhh! Me I was just watching and entertaining myself oπ

This sounds like another great movie to watch; I have seen it but haven't gotten the chance to watch it.
Believing his wife is at home while she was indeed kidnapped, what a huge misunderstanding.
Yea it was, but the incident brought them close
π³what a misunderstanding, I haven't taken time to follow k series I heard they have very good movies
Their series are actually interesting
