See (TV Series 2019-2022) is an apocalyptic sci-fi television series developed by Steven Knight where human beings are unable to see. The show which came out on Apple TV+, features the realties of a world where most people are blind and where vision is as rare as in our world. Featuring Jason Momoa, Alfre Woodard, Hera Hilmar, and Sylvia Hoeks as the leading actors, the series is worth watching for its stunning concept, intricate plotline, and stunning stunts. It can be classified as drama, adventure and political themed novel; it falls under the speculative fiction genre.
It is set hundreds of years in the future after a virus that has affected humanity claiming the sight of most of the population. Generation after generation people got used to this state of affairs and ,for instance, evolved hearing, smell and even touch to interact with the environment. Blindness has changed the known world for the worse, but at the same time has given people a new, different mode of existence. Vision, which has become a myth, is both loved and hated because the bearer of the talent to see is a heretic and a bane to society.

Baba Voss portrayed by Jason Momoa is a great and rather strict warrior, who is a leader of the Alkenny clan. A major twist comes in Baba Voss’s family, when wife Maghra (Hera Hilmar) delivers twin boys who are born with the special sight of vision. It also triggers a thrilling ride when the family is pursued by a religiously obsessive tyrant queen Kane played, by Sylvia Hoeks. Queen Kane, being evil and cunning, views vision as an evil that has to be purged to protect the established order. Indeed, much of the conflict in the series revolve around her desire to either control or to annihilate the twins.

The series explores the nature of power and faith and fear of the unknown. As Baba Voss strives to protect his family and his tribe the drama depicts how the ability of seeing complicates a world which was created for the blind. See has more vibrant and colourful visuals, detailed costumes and sound that depicts the different senses adapted to by the inhabitants. The shoot-motion as well the fight-motion is raw and ruthless in its depiction of the show’s physical disputes which are survival of the fittest.
Apart from this exciting plot, SEE comes to the viewer with the thought-provoking believe in perception, the meaning of leadership, and the strength that a person is ready to make for his beliefs. It is a powerful love story over friendship and ability of people to remain alive and change for the better despite everything existing around them. See remains an utterly human story in a science fiction setting, which is something that works perfectly for today’s audiences.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend checking it out. With its compelling storytelling, exceptional performances, and stunning visuals, See offers a thrilling and thought-provoking experience.✅

I'll rate it a solid 8/10 🔥
