Cobra Kai Season 6 Review

Another day another review as they say, or to be more precise as i say! I think that most of you have watched Karate Kid or even grew up with these movies. Then after many many years, a "prequel" with a new story came up with the name Cobra Kai. The main protagonists were the same people we knew as kids but like us, they are grown-ups now.

Basically, the general plot is that we get to see our favorite protagonists and how their lives are currently. Some of them have kids some face struggles, but how will the love for the art of Karate unite them again? That's the main plot without any spoilers so thank me later. Now i will talk more in detail regarding the 6th season. I will try again to avoid any big spoilers because i am a good guy after all so stay with me till the end.

Plot of Season 6

The 6th season of Cobra Kai has 10 episodes so far and apparently 5 more will come next year. For some reason which i don't understand this season is divided into 3 parts with 5 episodes each. The first part aired during the summer in July and the second came in the winter (see what i did here?) airing in November. The next 5 episodes as i mentioned are expected somewhere in 2025.

Now regarding the plot, after many setbacks, the group of kids along with their Karate Masters under their Dojo name managed to secure a spot in the SEKAI TAIKAI which is supposed to be the biggest Karate tournament in the world in terms of this age group. The tournament takes place in Spain so 5 team members along with their teachers embark on a new journey to represent their dojo and win.

A lot of groups are there with different intentions and different kind of ulterior motives but the main goal that everyone has is to simply win. The first 5 episodes are something like the set of the season and the following 5 have a "big" plot twist and to be honest, are more fun and exciting. As i said no spoilers!

What I Liked and What I Didn't

To tell you the truth i really like the story and the acting of most of the characters, especially the grown-ups. Also, the idea of changing the set from America to Spain was something fresh that the show needed if you ask me. It also seemed that there is still character development for basically everyone actively having a role in more than a few words in the series which is cool.

Another thing i liked is the as far as it concerns Karate, we get to see more interesting fights in more unique sets which i really really enjoyed. The plot twists in the show also keep getting better. Above everything though the nostalgia of having characters that you grew up with coming back one after the other is amazing!

The only thing that i don't really like but i am ok with it because i know what i am watching is the fight scenes. You need to be completely aware that you are watching a Karate Kid series. Then you would be ok cause the fight scenes feel a bit lame, quite fake and in most cases like something you and a couple of your friends can do easily.

Overall, if you are a fan of the initial movies it's a must and also if you have 2nd thoughts about watching this season, don't, it may start a bit slow but it goes from like 20% to 100% from episode 6!
