Blink Twice.... Forgetting Is A Gift!
"Blink Twice", is a 2024 psychological thriller which revolves around two roommates, waitresses Frida (Naomi Ackie) and Jess (Alia Shawkat) who find themselves working at a party organized for Slater King, a charming and handsome, billionaire tech CEO (Channing Tatum).
It was unimaginable ecstasy when Slater invited both waitresses to his private Island for a vacation. Initially, the island appears to be a paradise filled with luxury and indulgence....
Then Jess was bitten by a snake, she was assured by Slater that it was a harmless bite, and that she was not going to die.
But the next day, Jess begins to freak out, insisting that there was something so wrong going on, on the Island and that there was much more to their trip than meets the eye. Of course Frida brushes off her concern because she was having a swell time, or so it seemed.
Soon, Frida begins to notice weird things happening to her, she keeps getting dirt under her fingernails, and a stain on her dress mysteriously disappears.
Then she takes a sip of a green liquid offered her by an old woman, which contained a snake venom, and discovers that she had been suffering from induced memory loss and had not remembered seeing Jess since after the snakebite–the perfume provided for the female guests to the Island, contains a poison that induces memory loss, under which influence, the women are assaulted again and again, without them recollecting any of it, the next day.
Frida uncovers the secret behind consuming that snake venom, it could counteract the effects of the poison, and make her regain her memory.
The Movie is a descent into chaos and utter madness, you gotta watch this to believe it!
The film was highly suspenseful and kept me thoroughly engaged throughout, it kept me in a mood of unease that will linger in my memory for a long time to come.
The Handsome Channing Tatum truly stole the show, delivering an intensely captivating performance.
Naomi Ackie also delivers on performance, perfectly portraying "Frida", a cocktail waitress that was drawn into a world of opulence and danger.
I loved how the local medicine woman, supposedly an enchantress, helps to shift the tables–via the snake's venom.
The incredible soundtrack had me grooving to some old school tunes... hahaha.
"Blink Twice" is a psychological thriller that is worth its salt and I am giving it a rating of 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 Stars out of 5.
