Underworld: Evolution (2006)

Hey everyone! Just wanted to say I'm super excited to have found this movie community. I'm a bit of a film geek, so I'm looking forward to discussing movies with all of you.

I chose to review "Underworld" because this is a movie that has captured my interest. I know most people have a problem with horo movies not to talk of vampires but i found horror movies interesting. In fact i have a friend that will always call me and ask for new horror movies to spend the weekend.

Starting with Underworld: Evolution (2006) I first watched it when i was in college. Even if i don't love anything about it, one thing i love was the way Selene was protecting Michael Corvin, i almost had a crush on Selene anyway.

The Beginning
At the beginning of the movie, vampire elders Marcus and Viktor lead an army of vampires to capture Marcus's brother, William the first and most powerful Lycan because he is uncontrollable. Marcus wasn't really happy about this but Victor orders William to be imprisoned for eternity.

The Betrayal Uncovered
Selene discovered that Viktor, her mentor and adopted father betrayed her by manipulating her to believe that the Lycans were responsible for killing her family centuries ago.

Selene
In truth, Viktor himself ordered the massacre of her family after Selene's father built William's prison but he spared Selene's life because she reminds him of his late daughter, Sonja, whom he killed for falling in love with a Lycan.

Victors Death
The climax took place at the vampire mansion, Viktor realising that Selene knows the truth attempted to kill her. Meanwhile, Michael Corvin, now a newly turned Vampire-Lycan hybrid fought to defend Selene.

The Scene: Michale and Selene
Michael engaged in a fight with Viktor. Viktor being one of the oldest and strongest vampires, proves nearly unstoppable. His combat skills and superhuman strength allow him to dominate Michael in a fierce hand-to-hand fight. He almost killed Michael by impaling him with his sword.

Viktor vs Michael
As Michael and Victor battles Selene retrieves Victor's sword. In a decisive moment she uses her superior speed and combat training to launch a precise powerful strike, She slashes Viktor across the side of his face slicing through his head and neck diagonally.

Viktor
His death ends his long reign as a Vampire Elder and sets in motion power struggle where Marcus awakens and seek revenge for his brother's imprisonment.
