Epic Season 2 Finale of The Rings of Power: The Balrog, Gandalf, and the Sword Narsil [ENG/SPA]

Season 2 has delivered an incredible finale! Episodes 7 and 8 have given us amazing moments that brought to life the scenes many Tolkien fans have been longing to see on screen. Episode 8 especially blew me away right from the start. Despite all of Durin's warnings to his father, the dwarven king, their actions end up awakening the Balrog, a creature that had been slumbering deep within the mountain.

Un cierre de temporada 2 epico en los Anillos de Poder: El Balrog, Gandalf y la espada Narsil

Gran cierre a tenido esta temporada 2, los episodios 7 y 8 nos han regalados maravillosos momentos que han colocado en pantalla, acontecimientos que muchos de los fanáticos de Tolkien han querido ver representados. El episodio 8 especialmente me ha encantado porque comienza fuerte, a pesar de todas las advertencias de Durin a su padre el rey enano, sus acciones terminan despertando al Balrog que yacía dormido en lo mas profundo de la montaña.

Este encuentro del Rey Enano y el Balrog ofrece una de las mejores escenas de la serie poniendo muy en alto su nivel del CGI, seguro será una de las escenas mas recordadas con el paso del tiempo. El Rey termina sacrificándose y antes de hacerlo llama rey a su hijo Durin IV, pero no será fácil que conserve la corona, ya que al final de la temporada su hermano pretende también la corona, dejando posiblemente para la tercera temporada un juego de tronos, que espero le hagan justicia con su desarrollo porque la historia de los enanos es una de las mejores, que no ha sido bien explotada.

This encounter between the dwarven king and the Balrog is one of the best scenes in the series, showcasing some truly impressive CGI. It's definitely going to be one of the most memorable scenes for years to come. The king ultimately sacrifices himself, naming his son Durin IV as king before he dies. However, it won't be easy for Durin IV to hold onto the crown, as his brother also has his eyes on it at the end of the season. This sets up a potential Game of Thrones-style conflict for Season 3, which I hope they do justice to, because the dwarves' story is one of the best and has been underutilized.

Another major highlight of the series is the confirmation of the Stranger as Gandalf. It's something we all suspected, but now it's official. After a few episodes with limited screen time, we finally get back to the story of the wizards, which I personally wanted to see more of. But I guess with five seasons planned, they'll be pacing themselves. We do get the long-awaited encounter with the Dark Wizard, but they don't fight, and we still don't know his name.

Otros de los grandes momentos de la serie es la confirmación del Stranger como Gandalf, es algo que ya todos intuíamos pero finalmente se hizo oficial. Tras algunos episodios con poca participación, volvemos a la historia de los magos, historia que personalmente deseaba que se desarrollara mas, pero asumo que tras ser anunciadas 5 temporadas para esta serie, será bien dosificada. El caso es que se da el esperado encuentro con el Dark Wizard pero no entablan combate, y tampoco aun sabemos cuál es su nombre.

In the city of Númenor, the struggle for power continues. Queen Tar-Miriel is finally overthrown, despite the Valar sending a powerful sign that she is their favorite. This leads to Miriel sending Elendil away from the city, but not empty-handed. The legendary sword Narsil, used to defeat Sauron in The Lord of the Rings films and later wielded by Aragorn, finally makes its appearance. This was such an exciting moment for me because I'd been wondering who had the sword.

En la ciudad de los hombre Numenor, continua la lucha por el poder y control de la ciudad, la Reyna Tar-Miriel es finalmente derrocada a pesar de que los Vaal envía una poderosa señal de que es su favorita. Esto ocasiona Miriel envie lejos a Elendil lejos de la ciudad pero con algo muy especial, finalmente entra en escena la mítica espada Narsil utilizada para vencer a Sauron en las películas del Señor de los anillos y que luego es empuñada por Aragon al ser forjada para restaurarla, esto me causó mucha emoción porque de verdad me preguntaba quien tenía en su poder la espada.

While the series has had many fantastic moments, there were also some disappointments. For example, Sauron's takeover of the Orcs felt a bit anticlimactic after such a masterful plan. After all that buildup, the betrayal of Adar was a bit underwhelming. I also wasn't entirely convinced by Galadriel. She started off as a powerful warrior but seemed to become quite foolish by the end, perhaps to show the effects of the ring on her. It doesn't quite match up with the Galadriel we know from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit.

Aunque la serie ha tenido momentos maravillosos, también los tuvo muy decepcionantes, por ejemplo, como Sauron finalmente se hace con el control de los Orcos, tras un plan tan maestro como el que llevó a cabo, terminamos viendo cómo traicionan a Adar y ya, eso fue un pobre final. Otro personaje que no termino de convencerme fue Galadriel, me parece que comenzó siendo una gran guerrera, para verse muy tonta al final, quizás para dejan entender que estaba siendo muy afectada por el anillo, pero deja mucho que desear tras sus intervenciones en las sagas del Señor de los anillos y el Hobbit.

Overall, the series has more highs than lows, especially for those who are already familiar with the story or have seen the previous films. For instance, the elves find refuge in a place that Elrond calls a sanctuary, which is believed to be Rivendell. This is a thrilling moment for any fan and provides a satisfying conclusion to the season. The only downside is that we don't know when Season 3 will air. Hopefully, we won't have to wait another two years.

Pero en general la serie tiene mas bueno momentos que malos, especialmente para quienes ya conocen algo de la historia o solo han visto las anteriore películas, por ejemplo, los elfos llegan a refugiarse a un lugar que Elron llama suntuario y se cree que sea Rivendel, eso emociona a cualquier fan y da un muy buen cierre a la serie, lo malo es que no se a dicho aun cuando llegara la tercera temporada, ojala no tengamos que esperar nuevamente dos años.
