Will "The Stallone Family" dethrone the Kardashians? / La Familia Stallone, ¿Destronará las Kardashian?

Once scanning the television channels, my husband and I came across a channel that was broadcasting a current Lucha Libre program. I stayed for a few minutes watching it because what they were doing seemed funny to me. My husband was shocked and he said to me: Why do you see that? Those fights are lies. Everything is a lie!

I explained to him that these types of programs must be consumed for what they are, a great show, with choreographed fights, a lot of production, a script, a spectacle. You shouldn't look at it thinking: That's not true! because obviously it's not true. It must be enjoyed as a play, in which it cannot be denied that these "fighters" have histrionic abilities and also a lot of physical condition to perform such absurdly crazy feats or acrobatics, character construction, etc.

This is how I consume the few "Reality Show" concept programs that I have seen. Today I tell you about my latest taste "Guilty" that has me hooked The Stallone Family

Well, how can we not give a vote of confidence to our beloved "Rocky" and also give in to the curiosity or morbidity of seeing his lifestyle, his house, his family and any other things they decide to tell us, because certainly all of this obeys a script, we know that. But it has an air of normality or naturalness that is what they seek to give it, and it is very pleasant to see it in that type of environment, outside of the big screen as we are used to.

Sylvester Stallone, now quite old (76), presents us with a Reality Show where he wants us to know about his life with his family and his friends. Here we will then have Jennifer Flavin Stallone (54), his wife of almost thirty years, who was a model and is currently a businesswoman. Her three daughters are also part of the family: Shopie (26), Sistine (24) and Scarlet (20).

The Stallone Family premiered its 1st Season with 8 episodes in May 2023. And I can tell you that this is a more conservative family than we have seen in other Reality Shows such as the Kardashians or Ozzy Osbourne, to mention only the ones that I have seen and that are about allowing us to know what their lives are like. families with luxurious living standards.

The three daughters are like nice girls with a quite natural behavior, although we know that there is nothing natural there, since even though they are at home they are always very beautiful and well-groomed.

They have upper class tastes, that is, they have a lot of money but they have good taste in dressing and regarding their jewelry and shoes, you will not see anything exaggerated and in bad taste like the Kardashians. They are very elegant even when relaxed in jeans and a shirt, and I absolutely loved that.

I found out about this series reading some notes about Stallone showing himself as "Sexist and Old Fashioned" but in my opinion, which also counts a lot like everyone else, I appreciate seeing him with that profile of a guiding dad with his daughters, that is the image that I feel like he must have a dad. Furthermore, I don't feel that he is sexist, in fact his daughters have a fairly relaxed relationship with him, they even make jokes with him and always have his own point of view.

The girls are very similar to the upbringing and treatment that I have with my own daughters and perhaps that is why I was so hooked on the series.

From episode 1 of this 1st Season, we were able to see special guests who are part of Stallone's friends in real life of course, such as Al Pacino and Dolph Lundgren (the remembered Russian Boxer from Rocky) and he also has a special role in the family dynamic, Sylvester Stallone's brother, Frank Stallone.

What do I feel this Reality Show is selling me?

We already know from The Kardashians that these shows are really a 30 minute or longer commercial. And each and every one of its chapters is sponsored by brands that pay even millions to have a presence in it. This is what happens with brands of furniture, vases, utensils, electrical appliances, food, etc.

From my humble opinion, I am not a brand connoisseur, but I can tell you that this almost seemed like a commercial for SHOES, yes for shoes. Because they present us with shots or shots with strange perspectives, like from below, with shots where they are seen sitting in a director's chair but the shot is from below and what we mainly see are Shoes, Shoes and Shoes. From Stallone with a parade of cowboy boots (that was strange by the way) and the girls with shoes, sandals, boots, etc. all spectacular with prominence not only in the shots, but also in the outfits they wear.

That I like?

I liked almost everything. It will seem a bit strange to watch the 1st Season, but all the 1st Seasons of Reality Shows feel strange, then we get used to it and they have also better calibrated what worked for them and what didn't.

I liked their good taste, the clothes, the shoes, the jewelry they wore, the places they allowed us to see, the houses, everything in good taste as I mentioned. Some stupid surgery or giant and vulgar butt did not jump into our eyes and that is appreciated.

What did I NOT like?

Although we know that Reality Shows are really very planned, I feel that they lacked a good script, since at times everything becomes too boring and boring. It doesn't get boring at all because the chapters are quite short, approximately 30 minutes, and it goes by quickly. But the themes of each chapter are somewhat weak or silly, which makes them seem more normal, because it is not a show or a stunt in each chapter.

One of the girls is following Stallone's career and has had roles, including in Stallone's latest series called Tulsa King, but they are short situations, almost sketches that do not give strength to the plot of the program.

Will it live up to the expectations of dethroning The Kardashians?

I think that with a 1st Season it is too little to say. Maybe it lacks problems or scandals, which is what the public likes, but I feel that this 1st Season may serve to raise many things or make them known, and it would depend, as always, on whether it is a good story to tell in the following seasons, a good script, more participation from other artists, etc.

I don't think it was a Boom, but personally I DID LIKE IT and I would watch a 2nd Season of this Family.

There are rumors that Stallone and Jennifer's marriage ended, that they are already talking about Divorce, but that we did not see it in this 1st Season because these episodes were already recorded. We cannot know if it is true, or if it is precisely part of the upcoming problems or conflicts that will give life to the following seasons of The Stallone Family.
