Uno para Morir... Qué necesidad había? / One to Die for... What was the need?
Esto fue un acto de fe, porque algo me decía que no podía salir bien. Me llené de optimismo y vi los primero 10 minutos, ya sabía que era un error, pero seguí y terminé viendo UNO PARA MORIR... fue todo lo que me imaginaba, tenía la fe de que por lo menos iban a dar un final inesperado, pero no... Hoy les cuento sobre esta película que es una triste copia de SAW.
This was an act of faith, because something told me that it could not go well. I was filled with optimism and I watched the first 10 minutes, I already knew it was a mistake, but I kept going and ended up watching ONE TO DIE for... it was everything I imagined, I had the faith that at least they were going to have an unexpected ending , but no... Today I tell you about this movie that is a sad copy of SAW.
En verdad no pensaba que iba a ser una copia de SAW, pensé que iban si alguna empresa destinaba recursos en financiar un película con ésta temática tan gastada, de seguro era porque iba a aportar una característica o giro diferencial o relevante, pero eso no pasó en ningún momento.
Lo que si agregaron fueron malas actuaciones, y esto también fue lamentable al tratarse de una película mexicana que aunque he estado alejada de él, pensaba que podía ser de mayor calidad dada producciones que han sonado mucho, pero que como les digo no he visto.
I really did not think that it was going to be a copy of SAW, I thought that they would go if any company allocated resources to finance a film with this very worn-out theme, surely it was because it was going to provide a differential or relevant characteristic or twist, but that did not happen in any moment.
What they did add were bad performances, and this was also unfortunate as it is a Mexican film that, although I have been far from it, I thought it could be of a higher quality given productions that have sounded a lot, but as I say I have not seen.
¿De qué trata UNO PARA MORIR?
Siete personas despiertan amarrados en una mansión inexplicablemente, solo se conocen tres de ellos, ya que forman parte de una familia. Típico que comienzan a conversar para saber si tienen algo en común que les ayude a entender por qué están en esa lujosa mansión, de lo cual rápidamente se dan cuenta que están encerrados en una especie de isla.
En una radio se escucha una voz que les dice que forman parte de un juego en el cual deben cumplir con tres reglas:
1- Deben elegir a alguien que quiera morir.
2- El elegido debe estar de acuerdo en morir.
3- Nadie puede sacrificarse o elegirse a sí mismo.
What is ONE TO DIE about?
Seven people wake up tied up in a mansion inexplicably, only three of them are known, since they are part of a family. Typically they begin to talk to find out if they have something in common that helps them understand why they are in that luxurious mansion, which they quickly realize is that they are locked up on some kind of island.
A voice is heard on a radio telling them that they are part of a game in which they must comply with three rules:
1- They must choose someone who wants to die.
2- The chosen one must agree to die.
3- No one can sacrifice or choose himself.
LO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ
- La trama trillada y vulgar copia, como ya les mencioné.
- Las malas actuaciones. No puedo rescatar ninguna actuación, uno no logra empatizar con ningún personaje, no se lamenta ninguna muerte. Los actores no parecen o transmiten a sus personajes, por el contrario parecen disfrazados, como por ejemplo la azafata que para nada tiene el porte. Por su fuera poco, los personajes femeninos hasta lloran sin lágrimas.
- Falta de guion interesante, como les dije la trama es una decepción, pero ni siquiera el guion logra ser interesante.
THAT I DID NOT LIKE
- The hackneyed and vulgar plot copies, as I already mentioned.
- Bad performances. I cannot rescue any performance, one fails to empathize with any character, no death is lamented. The actors do not seem or transmit their characters, on the contrary they seem disguised, such as the stewardess who does not have the bearing at all. As if that were not enough, the female characters even cry without tears.
- Lack of interesting script, as I told you the plot is a disappointment, but not even the script manages to be interesting.

LO QUE SI ME GUSTÓ
- Debo rescatar que la locación y las imágenes eran muy hermosas y claras. Aunque no había juegos de cámara interesantes que les hiciera justicia.
WHAT IF I LIKED
- I must rescue that the location and the images were very beautiful and clear. Although there were no interesting cam games to do them justice.
Me impresiona que UNO PARA MORIR recién estrenada por Paramount Plus, goza de buena crítica y me impacta mucho por realmente es una copia muy mala de SAW, no entiendo que necesidad había de hacer esto y menos por qué ha recibido ese apoyo. Si quiero apoyar al cine mexicano por muchas razones, pero esto fue una mala experiencia para mí.
De todos modos puedes tener una opinión diferente a la mía y no hay problema, cada uno tiene sus propios gustos y opiniones.
It impresses me that ONE TO DIE recently released by Paramount Plus, has good reviews and I am very impressed because it really is a very bad copy of SAW, I don't understand why there was a need to do this and even less why it has received such support. I do want to support Mexican cinema for many reasons, but this was a bad experience for me.
In any case, you can have a different opinion than mine and there is no problem, everyone has their own tastes and opinions.
