Esto se refiere a que los demonios NO CREEN en Dios, ellos SABEN QUE DIOS EXISTE
Esta película te la puedo vender así, con frases u oraciones del excelente guion que tiene a lo largo de 1 hora 37 minutos que dura la película Nefarious estrenada en abril de este año, es la película de Posesión que necesitaba el cine, es una obra de arte, y en la meto en mi Top 3 colocándose en el 1er lugar.
El género de terror es uno de mis preferidos y si son de posesiones les puedo decir que he visto un montón, y siempre he dicho que estas películas son para promocionar la Fe, lejos de lo que puedan pensar de que consumimos películas del lado oscuro, pues no, los mensajes de esas películas siempre son de Fe, de creer en la oscuridad porque crees en Dios, pero que validas que Dios es el Todopoderoso y que con él y en él te salvarás.
Primero te voy a dejar el Tráiler (no lo conseguí subtitulado al español) de la película y te sigo comentando algunos detalles y mi apreciación:

This refers to the fact that demons DO NOT BELIEVE in God, they KNOW THAT GOD EXISTSThis movie I can sell it to you like this, with phrases or sentences of the excellent script that has along 1 hour 37 minutes that lasts the movie Nefarious released in April of this year, is the movie of Possession that the cinema needed, is a work of art, and in I put it in my Top 3 placing in the 1st place.
The horror genre is one of my favorites and if they are about possessions I can tell you that I have seen a lot, and I have always said that these movies are to promote Faith, far from what you may think that we consume movies of the dark side, well no, the messages of these movies are always of Faith, to believe in the darkness because you believe in God, but that you validate that God is the Almighty and that with him and in him you will be saved.
First I am going to leave you the trailer (I did not get it subtitled in Spanish) of the movie and I will continue commenting some details and my appreciation:

En la película Nefarious tenemos a James Martin un psiquiatra Ateo que es contactado por una cárcel en Oklahoma para que le practique una Evaluación a Edward Wayne Brady, un asesino en serie que tiene años encerrado y que va a recibir su ejecución como Pena de Muerte.
Edward manifiesta que está poseído, que tiene un demonio dentro, por lo que se necesita que el Dr James lo evalúe para determinar si tiene demencia, ya que si es así no podría ser ejecutado por no estar en sus cabales y le correspondería es ser tratado como enfermo mental. En caso de que solo esté mintiendo y manipulando, pues entonces si le correspondería la ejecución.
Tota la película se trata de esta conversación entre el Psiquiatra Ateo y el reo que dice estar Poseído, es un gran guion con mucha Teología en su contenido, no hay poseídos vomitando nada, ni monstruos físicos, ni efectos especiales, prácticamente toda la película transcurre en este escenario que ves en la siguiente imagen:
In the movie Nefarious we have James Martin, an Atheist psychiatrist who is contacted by a prison in Oklahoma to perform an evaluation of Edward Wayne Brady, a serial killer who has been locked up for years and who is going to receive his execution as a Death Penalty.
Edward states that he is possessed, that he has a demon inside, so Dr. James needs to evaluate him to determine if he has dementia, because if so, he could not be executed for not being in his right mind and he would be treated as mentally ill. If he is just lying and manipulating, then he would be executed.
The whole movie is about this conversation between the Atheist Psychiatrist and the prisoner who claims to be possessed, it is a great script with a lot of Theology in its content, there are no possessed vomiting anything, no physical monsters, no special effects, practically the whole movie takes place in this scenario that you see in the following image:
Por lo mencionado anteriormente viene mi primer reclamo, ya que la venden como otra película de posesión y realmente es una película muy intelectual, con muchas explicaciones sobre la Creación, Dios, los demonios, sobre como vamos aceptando los pecados bajo excusas como la legalidad o nuestros derechos, la falta de fe, nos hace reflexionar sobre nuestros criterios morales ante temas como la eutanasia, el aborto, la pena de muerte, el libre albedrío, etc
Entonces, ciertamente llegué a esta película pensando en muchos efectos especiales, y recibí más de lo que pude imaginar. Me parece que es la mejor película de posesión y deja a las otras como un circo de estereotipos que nos aleja de lo realmente importante.
Because of the above mentioned comes my first complaint, since they sell it as another possession movie and it really is a very intellectual movie, with many explanations about Creation, God, demons, about how we go accepting sins under excuses such as legality or our rights, lack of faith, it makes us reflect on our moral criteria before issues such as euthanasia, abortion, death penalty, free will, etc.
So, I certainly came into this movie thinking about a lot of special effects, and I got more than I could have imagined. It seems to me to be the best possession movie and leaves the others as a circus of stereotypes that takes us away from what is really important.
Tal vez a muchas personas les moleste que esta sea una película católica, por su esquema y conceptos desarrollados, pero no me molestó, la consumí identificando esto pero es que es tan genial y poderosa en sus contenidos que está bien, es así, veremos toda desde esa óptica y vamos a conocer muchas cosas que desde esa religión no nos lo explicaron y aquí están perfectamente explicados, incluso puede (como es su intención) que logres renovar tu fe y también atemorizarte con sus verdades. Personalmente me cuestioné muchas cosas y me ha hecho repensarlas en este punto de mi vida.
Perhaps many people are annoyed that this is a Catholic film, because of its scheme and concepts developed, but it did not bother me, I consumed it identifying this but it is so great and powerful in its contents that it is fine, it is so, we will see everything from that perspective and we will know many things that from that religion were not explained to us and here are perfectly explained, maybe even (as intended) that you can renew your faith and also frighten you with its truths. Personally I questioned many things and it has made me rethink them at this point in my life.
Lo que hace escalar a esta película es totalmente y sin dudarlo la actuación de Sean Patrick Flanery, ya que con su actuación cuando interpreta al demonio Nefarious se muestra arrogante y logra transmitir mucho terror realmente, y en los momentos en que interpreta al Edward se nota perturbado, temeroso, totalmente quebrado.
Para mi no son relevantes los premios de la academia para definir si una película es buena o no, o un actor, tengo mis propias opiniones al respecto como todo el mundo. Sin embargo, si reconozco que para los actores y productores es importante para escalar, y deseo que la interpretación de Sean Patrick Flanery sea valorada y premiada no con uno, sino con varios premios.
What makes this movie soar is totally and without a doubt the performance of Sean Patrick Flanery, because with his performance when he plays the demon Nefarious he is arrogant and manages to convey a lot of terror really, and in the moments when he plays Edward he is disturbed, fearful, totally broken.
For me the academy awards are not relevant to define if a movie is good or not, or an actor, I have my own opinions about it like everyone else. However, I do recognize that for actors and producers it is important to climb, and I wish that Sean Patrick Flanery's performance is valued and rewarded with not one, but several awards.
Aunque como les mencioné es una película católica, o sobre la fe católica, también es una crítica hacia ella en algunos momentos, como cuando interviene un sacerdote católico y el demonio detecta que realmente no cree en los demonios y esto perpetúa la maldad al no afrentarlo. No puedo contarles sobre esto, pero realmente es muy valiosa toda esta situación.
Although as I mentioned it is a Catholic film, or about the Catholic faith, it is also a criticism of it in some moments, like when a Catholic priest intervenes and the devil detects that he doesn't really believe in demons and this perpetuates the evil by not confronting him. I can't tell you about this, but it's really very valuable this whole situation.
No nos permitieron conocer a Edward , las razones por las cuales permitió que el demonio lo habitara, creo que hubiese sido muy interesante saber cuando vamos aceptando al demonio sin darnos cuenta muchas veces.
Esta situación si la vi en la película El Abogado del Diablo, donde nos podemos identificar con el protagonista en las decisiones que va tomando y como va aceptando el mal.
Edward estaba temeroso, asustado, pero el arco del personaje nunca llego a la Aceptación de sus errores, mucho menos al Arrepentimiento. A pesar de ser una película católica, no toco estos temas que me parece que nos hubiesen hecho elevar nuestra conciencia. Tal vez no quisieron que empatizáramos con el asesino, y si ese fue el caso creo que tendrían un buen punto.
We were not allowed to know Edward**, the reasons why he allowed the demon to inhabit him, I think it would have been very interesting to know when we accept the demon without realizing it many times.
I saw this situation in the movie The Devil's Advocate, where we can identify with the protagonist in the decisions he makes and how he accepts evil.
Edward was fearful, scared, but the character's arc never reached Acceptance of his mistakes, much less Repentance. Despite being a Catholic film, it doesn't touch on these themes that I think would have raised our conscience. Maybe they didn't want us to empathize with the killer, and if that was the case I think they had a good point.

- El ritmo de la película no aburrió a pesar de ser básicamente soportado por el guión
- La realista escena de la ejecución, no la olvidarás nunca
- Good lighting and photography
- Dialogues with a lot of theological content but easy to understand, it was not pretentious the knowledge we were given.
- Sean Patrick Flanery's superb performance, worthy of the prized Oscar.
- Its message was not cheesy
- The pace of the film was not boring despite being basically supported by the script.
- The realistic execution scene, you will never forget it.

I am struck by the fact that the story takes place in a single scenario, that confrontation between the two characters. It often happens with this kind of films that are poorly promoted. I think it is more typical of psychological horror. I will have to look for it to see it.
What an amazing review! I like it. This movie is just unique and totally different from what we are used to seeing in the film industry. Fantastic script, expectational performance by Sean and also the cinematography. It was all brilliant except for the wrong genre classification whereby it is a physiological thriller not horror. Let's hope Sean bags an award for his performance, it will be deserving. I enjoyed reading your review. Well done!
