Is the film "The First Omen" scarier than The Nun?
Yesterday, I watched two horror movies. The first one was that I watched it during the afternoon because I was bored. The other one was watched at night with my younger cousin.
But I will talk about the first one. The horror movie that I watched during the afternoon yesterday. Because this horror movie gave me a lot more thoughts than the other one.
The title of this horror movie is "The First Omen." Are you familiar with the horror movie "The Nun?" After looking at the poster, it gives me a vibe of "The Nun" version two. That's why it makes me curious to watch it. And it also says that this horror movie is 'The most terrifying movie of the year'. Hmm... let's see.
The first thing that came to mind after watching the beginning was that maybe something had happened. Like the ghost possessed the body of the person. But let's not talk about that more because I don't like to spoil my readers.
The opening of this movie is already giving you mild nervousness. I think it was a good beginning for viewers.
I cannot help but stare at this beautiful actress in this movie. She's really pretty in her simple look as one of the sisters of the church.
And this is my first time watching a horror movie where they use their own language sometimes. Which made me learn a little bit.
The happenings in this movie are not making me feel shocked anymore, especially what is happening at the church. I mean, that's a reality. Not all churches are actually doing good; they also do bad things inside that some people don't know about.
I won't spoil you with more images, and I will just tell you my thoughts after I watched this movie.
This movie is not the one that I was expecting. Because I expect that this movie will be more like "The Nun.". Because if you have already watched that movie, you can tell that it is more scary. I don't think the word "The most terrifying movie of the year" will apply to this movie because, to be honest, it is not.
How can I explain it? Maybe you will be scared because of some unexpected happenings in the movie that will haunt you in your dreams because they're very traumatizing. But this movie is not the one that will scare you because of the ghost, but because of the effects of the gruesome things that happened.
This movie is more like storytelling. Which made me enjoy watching it, especially the plot twist and the ending, which left me hanging and building a lot of questions inside my mind. which made me hope for season two, but I think I will wait a lot of years for that to happen.
For those who are afraid of watching a horror movie, I think this movie is okay with you. Just prepare your heart and mind because there are scenes in this movie that are not good for mental health and are bothersome.
I wasn't scared of this movie; I was brave enough to watch it yesterday, but while writing this blog, I was bothered by the scene (last picture). Where someone asks for help and pleases the people. The scene that happened in that image made me remember what happened, and the way that person begged bothers me. And as a kind viewer, I feel sorry for what happened. I feel guilty, even though I wasn't there when it happened. My god!
Anyway, this is all I can say about the movie. I will rate this movie 8.5 out of 10 because, even though this movie didn't surpass the movie "The Nun," the story is not boring, and I enjoyed watching it. Every scene made me feel curious, and I was given a remembrance. Lol
