Mulligan (2023)
Netflix has some weird shows! Among those animated shows, some are quite good; others are just a total waste of time. I came across Netflix animation through 'Inside Job'. It was weird, but funny enough to be worth watching.
In 2023, I had a patch to see comedy, which is still going. I have seen sitcoms like 'Brooklyn 99' and '2 Broke Girls' as well as several comedy movies. Then I shifted towards animation. That is when I encountered 'Mulligan'.

This year, Part 2 was released. On this EID vacation, I finished watching this.
Actually, I sort of had to watch this, although I am not sure after finishing Part 2 that watching this was good or not. Netflix has a devastating way to end a season on a cliffhanger!
In the first season, we saw that earth was attacked by Alien. Somehow, dim-witted Matty Mulligan destroyed alien mothership along with Lucy Suwan. Senator Cartwright LaMarr made him president of America. So, the show revolves around him. He is a childish man, and somehow he is now the president of America!

With just a few people, America is trying to stand on its feet. At the end of the first season, a cruise ship arrives with some survivors, and LaMarr wanted to arrange an election!
The second season starts from here. With conflicts and fun, the season moves on. Matty makes several wrong decision. Lost his presidential chair to a plumber. Fired LaMarr. It was only him and Lucy at the end.
The only sane character in this show is Dr. Farrah Braun. She is consistently trying to make a better future. Although she seemed over-protective for TOD.
The twist was that there was another alien alive. With the Axatrax, the prisoner alien plans to kill the remaining alien. Without any proper ending, Part 2 is over here.

The drawing is unique and full of bright colors. The animation is good. The story-telling is quite nice and enjoyable.
All the main characters are developed with care. The mood-swing or childish behaviour of Matty is very funny. The story is not very well crafted. So many things happen behind the scenes. Overall, it is good enough to pass time, though watching it continuously can be boring, at least to me.
If you want to laugh, you can watch it. But there are better shows than this one to make you laugh. You will not miss much if you decide not to watch this.
I will give it around 4.5–6 out of 10 as some episode are good and others are just nonsense.
Although it ended, I may be waiting for Part 3. But if it follows the pattern of Part 2, then most likely I will not continue watching it after I get closure.
