What movie do you watch nowadays?

I want to talk about a really good Indian film because it has a message that is very relevant to today. This film deserves many awards because it gives a truly powerful message. We know that people who are too fanatical about their religion (whatever the religion) will be easily manipulated by the leaders they worship, so that whatever comes out of their mouths is like an order that is believed to take them to heaven. Even though the leader says things that deviate from religion, his followers seem to turn a blind eye. This is the situation depicted in the film Maharaj.

This story begin with birth of Karsandas Mulji (played by Junaid Khan), who will later become a thinker and revolutionary. He is not afraid of anyone who has done injustice or injustice. Karsandas has a fience named Kishori (Played by Shalini Pandey) who is a religious girl. They will get married if Kishori passed her study. Karsan suggested her to complete her study before married.

Unlike Karsan who believes in justice, Kishori strongly believes in JJ (Maharaj Jadunath Brijratan-Played by Jaideep Ahlawat)--a priest who is trusted by the local community as the leader of the Haveli (Holy place).

On the Holi celebration, Kishori performs at the Haveli where JJ is treated like a god. JJ sees Kishori and chooses her to perform a worship called Charan Seva, which is actually a sexual act. Karsan sees the deviant worship, then shouts at Kishori to stop it. Kishori looks embarrassed but she still defends that the act she did with JJ was a holy act that will save her in the next life. Karsan then breaks off his engagement with Kishori because he feels ashamed of Kishori's actions.

Karsan then became the only person who was vocal against Maharaj JJ who had done a lot of abuse of power in the name of religion. He then saw more that JJ was a cruel person. At the same time, Kishori who was ashamed after knowing that JJ whom she worshiped was nothing but a sex offender, chose to commit suicide and gave a message to Karsan to fight JJ.

As a person who believes in justice, Karsan then sued JJ in court. This is where the Karan vs JJ fight begins...

A Summary

This movie is movie debut of Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan. Before release, this movie face a controversy and opposition from a religious community and was banned from airing. That's caused this movie airing on OTT Netflix. Yup, you also can watch this movie on Netflix. On Netflix, this movie become trending in various country, including Indonesia.

For me, I wish this film opens the eyes of anyone who is very fanatical about religious leaders not to pawn their faith and tarnish their religion because of the behavior of leaders who deviate far from religion. The leader of religion is still a human, they were not always right. You should to find what you belief and considering it whether good or bad.

All actors doing good. Junaid Khan as a debutant, doing a superb character. I think it's hard to find the beautiful character as new comer. Even though He is a Nepo Baby, audience can not close their eyes about his talent. Shalini Pandey, she is beautiful and talented. I first recognized her as Alia Bhatt, audience even agree with that fact. And the villain, Jaideep Ahlawat he had my hate. Hhaha..

There is one actress that have special performance on this movie, but her character could have made the film more exciting. That is actress Sharvari Wagh, who comes almost in the middle of the film and makes Karsan's character more bold.

Talking about this movie, as I said before that this movie have to get National Award (Highest Award in India) and praise all element of this movie.

I rated this movie as 5 from 5 star: Execelent and superb!
