Why 'Home Alone' is a Classic Christmas Movie

Christmas is arguably one of the best festive seasons of the year, which presents us with loads of exciting events and activities, and one of the things that makes Christmas stand out for its impact is the movies that revolve around its celebration and season, and through the years I've watched loads of movies and cartoons in that regard, which I find exciting, but talking about my favorite Christmas movie, I guess only one came to mind because of how intriguing the storyline was, and in this article I'll be telling you about a bit of it.

During my Christmas I've always come to love Christmas because of how our family gathers and celebrates the season in one accord; it's always a refreshing moment for me to see our extended family members and have more exciting shared experiences together as a family, which goes on to strengthen our bond, and during one of such celebrations during my childhood days was when Home Alone came out in the 90s, and since we're together as one big family, we decided we'll watch it together later in the light, unknown to us that it's going to be one of the most wonderful things that made that year's Christmas more exciting.

So one of those nights we decided to watch the movie together as one big family. We were over 20 that sat inside our grandparents parlor to watch the movie, and almost from the first scene, we couldn't help but laugh at some funny discussions and conversations of the McCallister big family, who were preparing to travel the next day to celebrate Christmas in another city, and unfortunately for them, when the day arrived, one way or another, they forgot one of their sons in the house, and while flying out of the city, they didn't even notice until they arrived in the other city.

One thing that made me love the Home Alone series is because its storylines are related to us back then. I mean, we've also traveled for Christmas only to come back and realize someone has broken into our house and looted something while we're away, and seeing it in that movie and watching Kevin McCallister deal with the thieves is just so satisfying; all of the traps he set and the painful reaction of the thieves are just exciting, and watching it as a family and seeing all of those just hit differently as we all laughed and rolled on the floor at the braveness and craftiness of Kevin McCallister.

One of the scenes I love and find interesting and which also shows how crafty Kevin was is the scene where he realizes the thieves were roaming around the neighborhood, and in order to prevent them from coming to their house, he uses different mannequins and cardboard cutouts of people controlled by wire to display as though there are many people in the house holding a party. It was just funny seeing the thieves expression when they came and saw all those movements around the house; they never expected it, given the fact that they had information about all the people who'd traveled out of the neighborhood for Christmas, and that act by Kevin prevented them from doing anything that particular day.

Another scene I love was when Kevin used the scene of a movie he was watching where an angry man was talking to someone and then shot his gun angrily. He later used the same movie voiceover to deceive the thieves, making it seem like truly someone was in the house, and by the time the movie character started shooting, you need to see how we were all rolling on the ground with laughter at how scared the thieves were and how they quickly ran out of the house to the bus and zoomed off speedily. It was nothing short of a mind-blowing act by Kevin.

Overall, all of the series of Home Alone are just exciting, and we did enjoy everything. Aside from the fact that the shared experience made it unique and exciting, I must also commend the brain behind the script for a job well done and all the characters that made it enjoyable for us, the viewers. Even though we didn't expect that it would have more parts, when more parts of Home Alone came out in the 90s and early 2000s, we still sat together to watch and enjoy it, which wasn't a disappointment at all.

Making it my favorite Christmas movie of all time, I really love the movie and would love to see more exciting movies such as it that make the Christmas season more intriguing with a mind-blowing storyline that'll get us laughing or appreciate Christmas the more.
