BODIES es una serie que fue lanzada en la plataforma Netflix el año pasado a la que le tenía el ojo puesto, pero mi atención estuvo en otras cosas y termine no viéndola en su momento. Este año aproveché para verla, debo decir que me gusto bastante, una de mis series favoritas es "Dark" y me encanta la temática de los viajes en el tiempo, así que BODIES ya tenía una fórmula ganadora para atraparme.

La serie basada en la novela gráfica de Si Spencer, narra la entrelazada historia de cuatro detectives muy diferentes entre sí, que viven en cuatro épocas distintas (1890, 1941, 2023 y 2053) y descubren el mismo cadáver en un barrio londinense llamado "Whitechapel", dedicándose cada uno a intentar resolver el caso en sus respectivas épocas, encontrándose con muchas piedras e incógnitas en el camino que de alguna forma llevan a la misma persona.

Pienso que "BODIES" es un buen regalo para los amantes del thriller y la ciencia ficción, la trama engancha y sus personajes son complejos. La forma en que se mezclaron elementos de la vida real comprobables con elementos sobrenaturales resulta bastante convincente. Pude ver en algunos comentarios por aquí y por allá que muchos no se sintieron muy convencidos con ciertas cosas, lo cual no cuestiono porque yo a medida que veía la serie también me hice varias preguntas, pero al final siento que todo encajo bien, sin embargo, el final de la serie no fue mi favorito.

A mi parecer y refiriéndome netamente al final, no puedo evitar pensar que se perdió la oportunidad de dar una resolución más satisfactoria justo terminando la serie. Me gustó cómo se desarrolló la historia, todo hasta el capítulo final daba para una resolución completa al ser una serie limitada, pero dejaron un espacio a la imaginación que no termino siendo lo que hubiera tenido sentido. Yo literalmente estuve súper enganchada viendo la serie, pero el final, justo el final, me dejo un poco (?), igual la disfruté, pero sí sentí un poco de decepción por el final.

En general, "BODIES" es una serie entretenida, con muchas incógnitas y bien hecha que merece la pena ver, aunque el final no fue lo que esperaba, la serie en sí misma es muy buena y vale la pena verla. Además del misterio, la exploración de la identidad y la corporalidad a través de una narrativa de ciencia ficción la hace diferente, a pesar de no ser un tema nunca antes tocado, la serie logra destacar por su premisa y su hábil manejo de temas complejos. La dirección y la cinematografía son de muy buena calidad, creando un ambiente intrigante y misterioso que complementa perfectamente la trama.

¿Recomiendo ver BODIES? Totalmente sí, solo tiene 8 capítulos y al ser una serie limitada, no hay que esperar por ninguna otra temporada. Si se animan a verla, ¡espero la disfruten y pasen por aquí compartiendo su opinión!

Time travel? loved it! ⏳

BODIES is a series that was released on the Netflix platform last year and I had my eye on it, but my attention was on other things and I ended up not watching it at the time. This year I took the opportunity to watch it, I must say that I liked it a lot, one of my favorite series is “Dark” and I love the theme of time travel, so BODIES already had a winning formula to catch me.

The series based on the graphic novel by Si Spencer, narrates the intertwined story of four detectives very different from each other, who live in four different times (1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053) and discover the same corpse in a London neighborhood called “Whitechapel”, each one dedicated to try to solve the case in their respective times, encountering many obstacles and unknowns along the way that somehow lead to the same person.

I think “BODIES” is a good treat for thriller and sci-fi lovers, the plot is engaging and the characters are complex. The way in which verifiable real life elements were mixed with supernatural elements is fairly convincing. I could see in some comments here and there that many did not feel very persuaded with certain things, which I do not question because as I watched the series I also asked myself several questions, but in the end I feel that everything fit well, however, the end of the series was not my favorite.

In my opinion and referring purely to the ending, I can't help but think that they missed the opportunity to give a more satisfying resolution right at the end of the series. I liked how the story unfolded, everything up to the final chapter gave for a complete resolution being a limited series, but they left a space to the imagination that didn't end up being what would have made sense. I was literally super hooked watching the series, but the end, just the end, left me a little (?), I still enjoyed it, but I did feel a little disappointed by the ending.

Overall, “BODIES” is an entertaining series, with many unknowns and well done that is worth watching, although the ending was not what I expected, the series itself is very good and worth watching. In addition to the mystery, the exploration of identity and corporeality through a science fiction narrative makes it different, despite not being a topic never touched before, the series manages to stand out for its premise and its skillful handling of complex issues. The direction and cinematography are of very good quality, creating an intriguing and mysterious atmosphere that perfectly complements the plot.

Do I recommend watching BODIES? Absolutely yes, it only has 8 episodes and since it is a limited series, you don't have to wait for another season. If you are encouraged to watch it, I hope you enjoy it and stop by and share your opinion!
