Asterix and Obelix - Mission Cleopatra is a 2002 action comedy film directed by Alain Chabat. The film tells the story of Asterix and Obelix, two friends from Gaul who are recruited by Queen Cleopatra to build a palace for her in Alexandria within three months. The mission is impossible because Cleopatra has promised to cede Egypt to the Romans if she fails.
I'm a big fan of Asterix and Obelix, so i was really excited to see this movie. And i was not disappointed. The film is an excellent adaptation of the comics, retaining all the elements that made Asterix and Obelix such beloved characters.
The humor is clever and subtle, and there are many moments that will make you laugh with tears. For example, the scene where Asterix and Obelix are thrown into the Nile and have to swim to shore is absolutely hilarious.
The character of Asterix is perfectly realized and the ancient world is rendered with attention to detail. For example, the scenes in Rome are impressive, and make you feel like you are back in Antiquity.
- The story is captivating and has all the elements that made Asterix and Obelix such beloved characters. For example, the fight between Asterix and Obelix against the Roman legionnaires is epic, and keeps you on your toes until the last moment.
