Unstoppable (Movie Review)| When Disability Have Nothing On You

When people look at me, the first thing they see is what is missing, if I win, having one leg won't be the most important things about me

I just watch an amazing movie tonight, I was scrolling through the street of tiktok when I saw one short movie where an handicap guy with one leg was struggling with determination to climb up a high hill among all runners, it literally caught my attention and curiosity to know what is actually going on seeing someone with just 1 leg and crutches, I had to check the comment section to view the movie title and went to netnaija to download it.

This isn't just a movie but a true life story of a legend Anthony Robles, he as a teenger had lot of challenges at hand both in door and outdoor, firstly he was physically challenged and when people see him at first sight, they saw what he never had ( his missing leg) and look down on him or see him as someone that wasn't fit to do things but he was determined to be able to do what able people can do and not let his situation weigh him down, he love wrestling just so he can see someone that can be challenging him, on the other hand at home he was suffering from physical and fatherly abuse from his step father who always use every opportunity he sees to remind Anthony he was never his father and life is already leading him 1:0, not only that he was physically abusing his mom (since he is a cop) so no law can hold him down. Anthony was a pro wrestler and he was able to win a gold medal in his school with the help of his coach, people were amazed how just one leg teenage could defeat able teens.

Things changed when he had to move to higher school, he was offer a scholarship by a school who needed him to be their pro wrestler because they never won a championship medal before, he rejected because he want to enroll in top school with 70+ gold medal since he consider himself a champion but he never realized that

Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them—a desire, a dream, a vision

There is something they say about mother's love, it supersede everything and will surely keep you going, he forfeit the school he wish to attend and join the one not far from home just to watch and protect his mom from his abusive step father, in his new school he was looked down on but he prove himself worthy, join hard challenges and climb hills without giving up just so he won't be kicked out but upon everything he lost his first match and also his spot to be part of the team but based on his effort and performance, they gave him a spot to stay after everyone voted him in. He did his first competitions and everyone kept chanting his name because they see pass his challenge but he lost the final to the undefeated champion from his dream university and that almost shattered his dream.

But he took the baton again for one last race, the fight of all fight and at the final level he met the undefeated champion again but this time around he was really cautious of his move, was in his defensive position and at the end he did the unexpected and won the gold title for the first time as a champion. The movie was great and at some point I felt emotional because of the suffering he went though, he was so determined that he left earlier before his team just so they could meet him half way the hill instead of starting with them, injured but still active even the coach was shocked, what manner of man is this. Anthony Robles story really inspire everyone that watch the movie and people rate it well, perfect 10/10 for me.
