Throwback Thursday || The Education Of Sonny Carson

It's a Thursday and you know it's a day dedicated to throwbacks. (TBT) is a popular social media trend where users share old photos, videos, or memories from their past, typically from their childhood, teenage years, or early adulthood. ThrowbackThursday is a lighthearted and engaging way to share memories, connect with others, and celebrate the past.

Today I'll be using an old movie as my TBT vibes. The movie is a 1974 American biographical drama film directed by Michael Campus titled "The Education Of Sonny Carson". The movie is based on the 1969 autobiography "The Education of Sonny Carson" by Sonny Carson, a community organizer and activist from Brooklyn, New York.

The film stars Rony Clanton as Sonny Carson and follows his journey from a troubled youth to a community leader. The story explores themes of racism, poverty, and social inequality, as well as Carson's struggles with the law and his eventual transformation into a respected community figure.

"The Education of Sonny Carson" received positive reviews for its gritty realism and powerful portrayal of urban life in the 1970s. The movie is considered a classic of American independent cinema and continues to be celebrated for its thought-provoking commentary on social justice issues.

The scene that struck my attention was when he(Sonny) came back from prison only to find out his woman is now a drug addict . That reality really hit on him . While he was in prison he thought he was missing out from the activities of the outside world only to find out it wasn't even any better than being incarcerated .

The movie is such a nice watch, though it's vintage it's no doubt gold .
