Zombie Liberation: Escaping the 9-to-5 Grind in Zom 100

Took a break from hive yesterday, to catch up on some real life shit and enjoy some quality family time.. Even managed to watch a movie after a month or so ^_^

I just went with the first thing Netflix suggested me, a japanese zombie movie called "Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead".

I had no idea what to expect, other than it was a zombie movie. So, I hit play hoping it would be something I would enjoy, since me and Netflix have a love and hate relationship...mostly hate that is 😆

So, this movie is about a young fella finding himself trapped in what he thought would be his dream job. But after getting hired he finds working in hellish condition... just a wagy hating his guts each and every moment so much to even contemplate suicide... Yet he can't master the courage to just quit and follow his dreams...

And then it happens! The zombie apocalypse. He is finally free 😆

Bullied by his boss, worked around the clock, he's nothing more than a corporate drone. All it takes is a zombie outbreak for him to finally feel alive. source

Now, if you expect a horror zombie movie then this movie is definitely not for you. It's clear from the start that it resides more on the comedy side.

And when it comes to comedy, I must say I enjoyed and it did give me a good laughs here and there.

Although after a point the movie becomes a bit too ridiculous and cringy... While writing this post I found out it is actually based on a manga so the ridiculous parts now make sense.

Production wise, it's a top notch movie with great special effects, acting etc etc. No complaints here.

I will also give it a bonus point for calling in-movie the zombies...zombies instead of something retarded like walkers, infected or whatever.

There are some deeper meanings and shit, like how the movie criticizes the whole live to work ethics, which from what I hear is super prevalent in Japan. So there's that too. Remember to live life a bit instead of becoming a wagecuck zombie frens!

Overall, a fun yet forgettable zombie comedy I enjoyed from start to finish. Hopefully, the peeps who follow the manga will also like it but I have no opinion on that. Although judging from the imdb reviews I think they were not happy with the final results.

Anyways..I liked it so fuck them. 😆

I'll give it a 7 out 10
