Nostalgia Bomb
It's been a while since the last time I enjoyed myself a movie as I am focusing my time these days on other things...
So today I figured to take a movie out of my bucket list and gave Top Gun Maverick a go.
Now, I am not a huge fan of the original film. It's just a dumb Hollywood action flick with lots of bang bang and some scenes that are just unforgettable. But it did came when I was a kiddo so there's a lot of nostalgia associated with it.
Well, I liked it. I liked it a lot.
It just hit all the right nostalgia sweet spots, yet it was fresh enough. And it still was a dumb movie that I enjoyed from start to finish. And all that air fight scenes were just awesome. 😄
Dunno about the young generation will like it since it just won't feel the same with the nostalgia factor amiss.
All I know is I felt like watching the good ol Hollywood I grew up with, without all the cgi crap we have been cursed the past decade. And it felt like I was a kid again back in the 90s.
An amazing sequel we never asked yet we received.
The only thing I didn't like was how a certain part of the plot (no spoilers) felt like it was stolen from Area 88, the original anime. Dunno if it accidental or not, it just fell like a total rip off. Fuck it, I will rewatch that anime after finishing this post 😂
Anyways. If you have somehow haven't watched it yet, and you are 30+ give it a go. And if you are younger I think it's still worth it, even just for the aerial fights.
A solid 8/10.... Fuck it, I'll give it a 10/10. Tom deserves it for looking like he is still in his mid 30s in the movie 😂
I really enjoyed this flick too. I think I watched the original 6 or 7 times at the movie theater when it first came out. 😍
Sounds like somebody into Tom cruise 😄
When I was 12 I had posters of him on every wall in my bedroom. 😂🤣😂
😂😂😂
Too bad that unlike Tom... We actually grew up :(

.Loved that movie. The best part a 61 year old flying those airplanes better than a 25 year old

It is a good action movie, many critics rated it better than the original, I liked Tom Cruise's performance and the special effects are very good, it makes you feel like you are in the pilot's seat, I saw it in the theater when it was released but I wouldn't mind seeing it again at home.
Does get monotonous, doesn't it? I don't want to sound antediluvian, but give me human imperfection and variety. Sometimes I feel like I'm watching an animated cartoon instead of a movie.
I haven't watched it, but I will now. Cruise is not one of my favorites
Only often those 30 old practical effects look better then today's cgi 😄
I went and saw that in the theater when it came out. What a great sequel to the original. The special affects were really awesome on that big screen.
It's one of my favorite movies, infact I've not watched the original one from 90s..
I !LUV ED those air fight scenes, the backflip of plane was still one of Awesome moment from this film.
Wonder if I should watch the original one?
Well you really won't miss anything big, but if you watched the sequel why not
I wanted to be a fighter pilot so I have always been a Top Gun fan. Yeah the 80's one was one of those US military hype moves during the Regan years, but it was still a classic.
As for the new one... I think I have seen it now more than the original, lol. I love the flight scenes and how they were done. Gives me hella respect for the cast and crew that actually went up in the F-18s. It was extremely well made and, yeah, I liked the story. The dude that played Goose's son was a dead freaking ringer.
So yeah, I have to agree, excellent movie!
It wil really be a music to watch out 😁
I dom't know..... I loved the first and the second was great but I feel that it wasn't needed at all..
With that said!
I do like how they continued with the second one, bringing him back to train the new pilots for the special mission. That was outside the box thinking.
It's literally the sequel nobody asked yet everyone loved !

The video makes sense and gave me an insight to what the movie will be like
It seem it will be an interesting movie
Nice one!
I really loved that movie. It's a part of my childhood as it was on TV a few times and I haven't watched it in a long time.
Looks like everybody loved it!
When it comes to the nostalgia factor we should avoid a poor storyline or some negative factors and enjoy the movie.

It’s funny top gun was never a movie I watched as a kid, maybe because my dad wasn’t a fan. We were more “predator” or “terminator” dudes growing up haha. I don’t think I’ve watched the full original movie from start to finish even though I’m of the age where I should have at least once. I do have some work friends that loved the new one though so I know I’ll eventually give it a go when it’s available free on demand for me. I’m not gonna rent shit lol
I watched this movie a lot of times, Love tom cruise movie's.
if you want to watch something really good give Blue Eye Samurai a try ( it even rhymes lol :P ). It's on Netflix so it's easy to watch without being a naughty pirate :P
was a brilliant film!
