Train to Busan—A survival of the fittest movie
Confined to a train, passengers must find a way to survive a zombie apocalypse. Will they make it alive with their loved ones or will fate take its course?
Train to Busan follows the story of Seok-woo (Gong Yoo) who had an estranged relationship with his daughter Su-an (Kim Suan). Seok-woo was a fund manager who prioritized his career over his family. His workaholic nature was the primary reason for his divorce.
Su-an threw a tantrum because she wanted to travel to Busan to see her mother on her birthday, as her father had made empty promises in time past. Seok-woo succumbed to his daughter's request and set off to Busan with Su-an the next day.
Seok-woo boarded a train while Su-an informed her mother that they were on their way to see her. But right there on the train, strange movements began, an infected person had unknowingly boarded and started attacking passengers which led to the rapid spread of the infection.
Shortly before the infection started to spread rapidly, there was a news of a zombie apocalypse which was sweeping through the country. The country was thrown into a state of uproar as was the train going to Busan. It had now become a survival of the fittest.
Passengers on the train found themselves trapped with infected individuals. Non-infected passengers became selfish with a burning will to survive. At some point, the train driver stopped at a station, leaving the passengers to find a way to survive.
Asides Seok-woo and Su-an, his daughter who boarded the train, other characters who boarded the train also played pivotal roles in the larger story.
Sang-hwa (Man
Dong-seok) was one of these characters alongside his pregnant wife, two high school sweethearts—who added a touch of youthful romance, and Yon-suk (Kim Eui-sung) who served as the film's antagonist.
Yon-suk, CEO of a major corporation was an extremely selfish man. His character highlighted a darker side of humans when faced with crisis. While some characters showcased heroism.
Train to Busan ended tragically. I was bawling my eyes out by the end of the movie.

I've heard a lot about this movie but usually, I would just shut my ears at the slightest mention of its title—not because of anything special though. I guess it's just me.
Based on the insight you've given, it's my typical type of movie, you know, the whole "zombie" concept. I'll definitely check it out, prolly this morning.
