This South Korean drama that aired in 2023 revolves around a police detective who sacrifices his time and family to work as a spy for the police to infiltrate a drug cartel and take them down.

Plot Overview- A low ranking police officer who was given a task to penetrate into a dangerous drug cartel union in the city of Gangnam and was in return promised a raise in his salary and rank.

Ji-Chang Wook who was given the role of Park Jun-mo, the low ranking police officer accepted this offer reluctantly after being convinced, and was therefore told to keep it a secret from everyone including his wife(who was also a police officer), to avoid emotions getting in the way since it was a dangerous undercover job.
Park Jun-mo’s relationship with his wife, Lim Se-mi who starred as Yoon Eui-jeong, became complicated with time.
The leader of the drug cartel union in the city of Gangnam was led by Wi-Ha Joon who starred as Jung Ki-Cheol, it was a gang where blood shed was a norm and where money was in abundance. Park Jun-mo tenaciously and carefully penetrated into the union and went in with an undercover name, Jang Giho.
Jang Giho rose to the level of Jung Ki-Cheol’s right hand man, Jung Ki-Cheol with time who saw how his right hand man had always put his life on the line for him, told him the deep secrets of the drug business and cartel, he trusted Giho so much.

Things became more complicated when Jun-mo’s(Jang Giho) marriage was put on the line. Yoon Eun-jeong later got to know her husband, Jun-mo was working undercover and at this time Jun-mo found out that Jung Ki-Cheol(his target) was his wife’s first love and that he still had feelings for her.
Jung Ki-Cheol not knowing Yoon Eun-Jeong was married to Giho(Junmo), an undercover, started taking steps towards rekindling things between him and his unrequited first love,Yoon Eun-Jeong, meanwhile Park Jun-mo was entangled in a relationship with a girl in the drug business who liked him a lot. All of this took a toll on Park Jun-mo’s marriage, distancing the couple from each other and bringing up trust issues.
Jun-mo was constantly at war with his emotions while balancing his undercover job and marriage. Jung Ki-Cheol later discovers the real truth about Jun-mo and his first love, Eun-jeong. Feeling so betrayed and heartbroken attempted to pull the trigger and kill Jun-mo, but Jun-mo in self defense shot him down. Jun-mo who was already attached to Jung Ki-Cheol, felt hurt that he killed him even when he was left with no choice.

Ratings/Character Review-

Ji-Chang Wook who starred as Park Jun-mo/ Jang-Giho was my favourite character. Not only was he my favourite in the worst of evil kdrama but also my all-time favorite Korean actor. Chang Wook deliciously dishes out every role given to him. Although, I felt bad for his character and that he had to carry the burden of his marriage falling apart, the burden of losing his target who he was attached to, I felt bad that he had to go through a very hard phase in his life.
In conclusion, Chang Wook is one versatile actor, the BEST there is.

Wi Ha-joon who starred as Jung Ki-Cheol was an actor I liked too. Jung Ki-Cheol in this drama was desperate to give his family a better life hence resorted to involving himself in drug business, looking at it from his point of view; I felt pity for his character, wished life didn’t end for him like it did, wished the writer gave him a second chance to live right and lastly wished he found a true love for himself.

I’ve watched a lot of Ji-Chang Wook dramas, being my favourite actor and I must say this is a MASTERPIECE. If you’re a fan of action mixed with romance of course, do me a solid and watch Worst of Evil Kdrama.

It's available to watch on Netflix.

Looks like there's going to be a bit of a squabble between us, as he's also my favourite Korean actor of all time, lol. The man is acting, finesse and everything else all at once. A true actor. This is the only drama of his I haven't watched, yet. But I'll get to it because it's time to catch up. Lovely drama. Thank you for sharing!🥰
