This is a korean drama focused on a girl who was betrayed, heartbroken and sought for revenge after her entire family was wiped out.

Plot line Summary:
Ashin and her family were a part of the marginalized Seongjeoyain tribe. They lived in a village called Boundary Village which marked the boundary between Joseon and the Pajeowi Jurchens. After the Japanese invasion left the Southern lands of Joseon in ruins, a new attack loomed in the Nothern lands of Joseon. The Jurchens started gathering at the basin of Pajeo river. Upon reaching 10,000 Jurchens, it was believed no army in the world could defeat them.
The warriors of Joseon, to prevent this looming attack form the Jurchens, scouted for another group of the Jurchens, in order to keep them in check and keep a facade of peace

This group of Seongjeoyain tribe lived in Joseon(in an area called "boundary village") and had done so for over a century but they were neither considered Jurchens(which was their root) nor were they accepted by the people of Joseon as their own.

Ashin's father was loyal to the Joseons, with very high hopes of providing a better and brighter future for Seongjeoyain. Ashin's father was an informant for the Joseon military, who reported all the activities of the Jurchens and relayed messages between the Joseon and the Jurchens. But the loyalty of Ashin’s father was one-sided as the Joseon officials saw Seongjeoyain as disposables.

Meanwhile Ashin’s mother was terribly ill and needed urgent medical attention, but the outcast title of the Seongjeoyain had meant no help will come from the Joseon military. With so much determination to save her mother, Ashin went into a forbidden area and came across a plant known as "Resurrection plant" that could bring back the dead, but it came at a dire price …Was Ashin able to pay this price?

Things turned into a debacle when Ashin’s father who had embarked on this journey didn’t return and Ashin had returned to her whole family dead including her ailing mother.

Devastated and heartbroken, she pleaded with the Joseon military to avenge her father’s death as news already came that the Jurchens had killed her father; she agreed to do anything in return for this favor.

Years later Ashin grew and became an informant also for the Joseon military but she later found out the truth about her father and who was responsible for her family’s death.

In this drama, Ashin kept all of her family who were already dead, "alive” by using the power of the plant that came at a grave price….How is this possible?

*Was she able to live with the burden of the state her family was in after she resurrected her family ?
*Did the Joseon military get revenge for her father?
*What terrifying price did Ashin pay to release the power of the resurrection plant?

Tighten your seat belts ladies and gents and watch how it all unfolds….

This movie is a genre of horror and thriller…with twists unfolding, it will captivate you totally. It’s a good watch and I would rate it a 4/5.

Thank you very much for your continuous support 🙏

I'm trying to imagine the dilemma that Ashin must have been passing through. She seemed to have to face different issues. Sounds like an interesting watch.
Nice review

She passed through a lot indeed, but her courage and resilience in this drama was commendable. You should try it out.

I totally adore revenge-themed films, especially Korean ones set in the Joseon dynasty. I can't wait to watch this. Thanks for the recommendation!
