This is an ongoing series and I would like to do a review on it because of the captivating storyline. I would never fail to always share the best of the best. This series began airing on the 17th of November, 2024 according to IMDb, and it will consist of 6 episodes with 3 intriguing episodes already released. It will air until December 21, with the 4th episode releasing today (08-12-2024)

Plot Overview-

The 3 episodes i have watched revolved around the story of a family bloodline named Abulord Harkonnen who was dismissed as a coward in the battle of winning the "Thinking Machines".

These "Thinking Machines" enslaved humans, overtime humans waged war against these "Thinking Machines. It was recorded in history that it was an Atreides—a family name that led them to victory and defeated the "Thinking Machines. It was also recorded in history by an Atreides that Abulord Harkonnen deserted the fight in the war against the Machines. Thus, Harkonnen and his bloodline was banished to a desolate world.

Valya Harkonnen, the great-granddaughter of Abulord Harkonnen, believed the history Atreides' wrote was spun out of lies and vowed to fight back for the honour of her bloodline. In the course of her fight,she lost her brother—Griffin Harkonnen; she was hated by her family (her father, mother and uncle) saying she caused the death of her brother because of her raging resolution, her sister(Tula Harkonnen) was the only person who stood by her.

Valya then joined the sisterhood of Rossak so as to gain power to rewrite her family's history. Her pursuit for vengeance was the key catalyst behind all her decisions. Right there in the sisterhood of Rossak, she met the first mother superior, (as they would call her)—named Raquella Berto-Anirul. She was a hero in the wars, she trained sisters to be truth-sayers and assigned them to great houses. Truth-sayers were sisters trained to sift truth from lies.

Mother Raquella embarked on a secret project to breed better leaders as those in power were full of corruption and greed. In this secret project, she amassed a wide-ranging genetic archive to cultivate leaders they could control at their will. Valya knew some persons in the sisterhood would view this project as heresy if they found out.

Mother Raquella knew Valya was the only one who saw eye to eye with her vision, thus appointed her to be the next successor of the superior after herself (Raquella). But Valya underwent the "Agony test" to become the next successor mother before Mother Raquella passed on. This "Agony test" is a near-death experience which involves the test of physical and mental endurance.
On Raquella's deathbed, she revealed to Valya of an impending doom awaiting the sisterhood.

Dorotea, the granddaughter of Raquella, after her grandmother’s death learned of her grandmother's breeding program; she saw it as heresy, as the breeding program was designed to manipulate and control leaders, which she saw as corruption of the sisterhood's original values and foundations. Thus, attempted to destroy it, in her attempt to do so, and resistance to the vision shared by her grandmother and Valya, Valya killed her using the powers she had harnessed over time—"The Voice"

Years later, a marriage between Princess Ynez—daughter of Emperor Javicco Corrino, ruler of one of the great houses—Corrino and a nine-year-old young prince from one of the great houses also was arranged. Ynez’s father and mother saw this marriage as the merging of two powerful families, but it was the manipulation and orchestration of Valya with the help of the genetic archive to get one of the sisters on the throne and to achieve her goals of restoring her family’s name.

Her plans were shattered by a man—named Desmond Hart. Desmond was once a soldier of the House of Corrino until he was assigned a task with his unit but he returned as a sole survivor after his unit was betrayed. He returned with powers and with his newfound powers, he revealed his plans to Valya to destroy the sisterhood and protect Corrino. Valya felt threatened and attempted to use her powers(the voice) to kill Desmond , the same way she killed Dorotea. But she was dumbfounded when her powers did not work on him.
With Desmond having a stronghold on the Corrino house, Valya’s services were dismissed, she now has to find a way to be useful and regain her ground in House Corrino for her plans to actualize.

Although there are three more episodes before this series comes to an end, but i’m so eager to find out if Desmond is a foe or friend.
I feel that the doom Raquella talked about on the sisterhood is Desmond Hart.
Valya, if you'd ask me, is fighting for a just cause, which I understand.
On the other hand, Desmond is protecting the House of Corrino as he was once and is still a soldier of House Corrino. Still, I feel these two characters have hidden agendas.
I must say, Dune:Prophecy has a dangerous grasp on me even after just three episodes!

Character review after three episodes:

This series piqued my interest when i discovered Travis Fimmel(the actor portraying Desmond Hart) who has starred in blockbusters like "Vikings" is a major character in it.

I’m in awe of the charisma and power Mark Strong (portraying Emperor Javicco) and Emily Watson(portraying the character of Valya Harkonnen) command. I feel they were made for the roles. For now, I’ll be rating the three episodes I’ve watched a 4/5! And i will give an overall rating when I’m done with this astounding series; until then I welcome you on board to watch this series. Dune: Prophecy, it is worth the watch!!
