Hello everyone!

I hope you're all behaving well, today I'm a bit livelier than usual so here's a little review of a series I've been watching this last week and I think it's worth it.

And again I'm sorry for being a bit inactive around here ;D

When I think of a good TV or streaming show I think that every episode should be an adventure, be refreshing with twists and turns and good acting, I haven't watched too many shows lately but I have been able to watch a personal recommendation from a friend, Poker Face is one of those shows that grabs you with just one episode and becomes a pleasant companion for a whole journey with a nomad who is a magnet for crime.

I'm not too familiar with Detective Shows, I've only seen the odd movie but nothing concrete to say I have experience watching this type of series, but man, the first episode at least is a rollercoaster ride that leaves you wanting so much more.

The premise is that it's a detective show... where the viewer already knows exactly what has happened and how the crime has been executed, throughout the episodes there is always a first part where we meet the "culprits" and accompany them throughout their process of carrying out extremely complicated and completely bizarre crimes.

Lo realmente interesante es como nuestra protagonista los va revelando.

Introducing Charlie Cale, witty, creative detective with a natural gift for knowing when a person is lying, in the show it's an infallible superpower for figuring out the situations she's in, from a riot over a winning lottery ticket to a conspiracy over a sabotaged race car, I'm amazed at the number of killers she encounters along the way after having to escape her life by taking advantage of her quirky gambling skills.

A Journey Through the Lost Towns of the USA

In a journey across the USA Charlie will take all kinds of jobs, she will meet all kinds of people and will be drawn to solve the crimes that occur around her, the actress is a bomb in each of the chapters, has a charm and magnetism that allows her to be the soul of the whole show, although that does not prevent the whole series has some very well written characters, even those who only appear in an episode (most) I feel they have an extra complexity that make their interactions are something more than just filler for the protagonist.

Everybody lies, is the premise of the show and Poker Face has a very... I don't know if the word is cinematic but its scenes have rhythm, they make you want to keep an eye out for hidden details in every scene, as if we ourselves can understand everything about how the crimes are planned, director Ryan Johnson as far as I have seen has a lot of experience with this particular genre having already 2 movies following this same thread that this show has.

Each of the chapters follows a format, we are introduced to the crime in detail along with the planning and then move on to Charlie and his abilities to deduce, question and ultimately come up with the truth, in the first chapter it is made very clear that this is a raw world.

I'm going to spoiler the EXCELLENT first chapter.

In this first chapter we see an employee of a casino discovering some dirty things about one of its most powerful guests, we do not see what it is but she takes a picture of him and then take it to the owners of the casino, who upon seeing this enter into a moral debate about how they should proceed, in the end they decide to kill the employee and her husband, blaming the murder of the latter knowing that he has a history of domestic abuse.

This employee is one of the friends of the main character, Charlie, who becomes deeply involved in her case when she realises that some things didn't add up, whether it was schedules, a phone call or an early dismissal from work the show knows how to put all the characters it introduces on the ropes, it puts Charlie in a position that forces her to escape and live as a hermit from town to town across the country and with a bounty on her head.

Though not all the episodes are memorable the one that is always sharp is the protagonist, she is a character that is always active, looking for some clue or digging to find some omitted detail, though some chapters are a bit rushed and over time the format loses a bit of charm and surprise she always remains as interesting as ever.

Even though the creativity gets diluted as the episodes go on I think there are some that are still worth a look, even the ones that I consider to be the ones that lose a little are fun in themselves and kept me hanging on with their twists, because in every episode there are unexpected twists that I never for a second expected, once we understand what it's all about I can't help but be glued all the way to the end which in most cases is resolved with Charlie solving the case although not always delivering justice.

I guess I went on longer than I thought I would about this show, but seriously, it's very entertaining to see how they gave a twist to the traditional detective series format, endearing characters in every episode and a sense that the protagonist is always in danger or seconds away from being caught in something shady, that will be my recommendation for today and I hope to post again constantly in the coming days.

¡Hola a todos!

Espero se esten portando bien, hoy vengo un poco mas animado que de costumbre asi que ahi les va un pequeño review de una serie que me estuve viendo esta ultima semana y creo que vale mucho la pena.

Y otra vez lamento estar algo inactivo por aca ;D

Cuando pienso en un buen show de television o de streaming pienso en que cada capitulo debe ser una aventura, ser refrescante con giros y buenas actuaciones, no he visto demasiadas series ultimamente pero si he podido ver una recomendacion personal de un amigo, Poker Face es de esas series que te atrapan con un solo capitulo y se convierte en un compañero agradable por todo un viaje con una nomada que es un iman para los crimenes.

No estoy muy familiarizado con los Shows de detectives, solo me he visto alguna que otra pelicula pero nada en concreto para decir que tengo experiencia viendo este tipo de serie, pero hombre, el primer capitulo al menos es una montaña rusa que te deja deseando mucho mas.

La premisa es que es un show de detectives.. en donde ya el espectador sabe con exactitud lo que ha pasado y como se ha ejecutado el crimen, a lo largo de los episodios siempre hay una primera parte en donde conocemos a los "culpabes" y los acompañaremos en todo su proceso de realizar crimenes en extremo complicados y completamente bizarros.

Lo realmente interesante es como nuestra protagonista los va revelando.

Introduciendo a Charlie Cale, ingeniosa, creativa detective y con un don natural para saber cuando una persona esta mintiendo, en el show es un superpoder infalible para ir entendiendo las situaciones en las que esta metida, desde una revuelta por un ticket de loteria ganador hasta una conspiracion por un auto de carreras saboteado, me sorprende la cantidad de asesinos que se encuentra por el camino despues de tener que escapar de su vida al aprovecharse de su peculiar habilidad en las apuestas.

Un viaje por los pueblos perdidos de USA

En un recorrido por todo USA Charlie va a tomar todo tipo de trabajos, se va a encontrar con todo tipo de personas y se vera atraida a resolver los crimenes que ocurren a su alrededor, la actriz es una bomba en cada uno de los capitulos, tiene un encanto y un magnetismo que le permite ser el alma de todo el show, aunque eso no impide que toda la serie tenga algunos personajes muy bien escritos, incluso los que solo aparecen en un episodio (la mayoria) siento que tienen una complejidad extraque hacen que sus interacciones sean algo mas que solo relleno para la protagonista.

Todo el mundo miente, es la premisa del show y Poker Face tiene una forma muy.. no se si la palabra es cinematografica pero sus escenas tienen ritmo, te hacen querer estar pendientes por los detalles ocultos que hay en cada escena, como si nosotros mismos pudiesemos entender todo sobre como se planean los crimenes, el director Ryan Johnson segun he podido ver tiene mucha experiencia con este genero en particular teniendo ya 2 peliculas siguiendo este mismo hilo que tiene este show.

Cada uno de los capitulos sigue un formato, nos presentan el crimen a detalle junto con la planificacion para despues pasar a Charlie y sus habilidades para deducir, cuestionar y en ultimas instancias dar con la verdad, en el primer capitulo se muestra muy claro que este es un mundo crudo.

Voy a hacer un spoiler del EXCELENTE primer capitulo.

En este primer capitulo vemos a una empleada de un casino descubriendo algunas cosas sucias sobre uno de sus mas poderosos huespedes, no vemos que es pero ella le toma una foto para luego llevarselo a los dueños del casino, que al ver esto entran en un debate moral sobre como deberian proceder, al final deciden matar a la empleada y a su esposo, culpando del homicidio a este ultimo sabiendo que tiene historia de abuso domestico.

Esta empleada es una de las amigas de la protagonista, Charlie, que se involucra a fondo en su caso al entender que algunas cosas no cuadraban, ya fuese horarios, una llamada o una salida temprano del trabajo el show sabe como poner contra las cuerdas a todos los personajes que introduce, coloca a Charlie en una posicion que la obliga a escapar y vivir como una ermitaña de pueblo en pueblo por todo el pais y con una recompensa sobre su cabeza.

Aunque no todos los episodios son memorables la que siempre esta afilada es la protagonista, es un personaje que siempre esta activo, buscando alguna pista o indagando para encontrarse con algun detalle omitido, aunque algunos capitulos son algo apresurados y con el tiempo el formato pierde un poco de encanto y sorpresa ella siempre se mantiene tan interesante como siempre.

Aunque la creatividad se va diluyendo con el paso de los episodios creo que hay algunos que aun valen la mirada, incluso los que considero son los que pierden un poco son divertidos en si mismos y me mantuvieron pendiente con sus giros, porque en todos los capitulos hay giros inesperados que ni por un segundo espere, una vez entendemos de que va todo no puedo evitar estar pegado todo el tiempo hasta el final que en la mayoria de los casos se resuelve con Charlie resolviendo el caso aunque no siempre impartiendo justicia.

Creo que me extendi mas de lo pensaba hablando de este show, pero en serio, es muy entretenido ver como le dieron un giro al formato de la serie de detectives tradicional, personajes entrañables en todos los capitulos y una sensacion de que la protagonista esta siempre en peligro o a unos segundos de ser atrapada en algo turbio, esa sera mi recomendacion por hoy y espero volver a publicar constantemente en los proximos dias.
