He had a target to look at. We vary shots. Not everyone needs to look directly into the camera. :)
True, but looking off camera for long periods of times is unsettling.
If all interviews were filmed direct to lens you would also have a odd feeling.
It was a choice by our photography director.
Yeah, looking directly into the camera for long periods of time is like watching the president address the nation. Off to the side is like we're listening in on a conversation.
