If you like science and fiction, multiversal theories, parallel dimensions and believe in angels, you might like this series. Warrior Nun is a fantasy and sci-fi TV series focused on divine miracles and religion related topics, but don't be scared, here I share my review about it.

Si te gusta la ciencia y ficción, las teorías multiversales, las dimensiones paralelas y crees en los ángeles, puede que esta serie te guste. Warrior Nun es una serie de televisión fantástica y de ciencia ficción enfocada en los milagros divinos y los temas relacionados con la religión, pero no te asustes, aquí te comparto mi reseña acerca de la misma.

Set in the present day, the story begins when an invalid girl is accidentally gifted with a divine power that allows her to walk, which she receives from a relic of a fallen angel, who, consequently, is sought by an organization of secret warrior nuns who fight against dimensional rifts and enemies from other dimensions. So far the series seems very fanciful, but let's see what else it has in store.

Ambientada en la actualidad, la historia comienza cuando una chica inválida es obsequiada por accidente con un poder divino que le permite caminar, que lo recibe a partir de una reliquia de un ángel caído, quien, consecuente a esto, es buscada por una organización de monjas guerreras secretas que luchan en contra de las fisuras dimensionales y enemigos de otras dimensiones. Hasta aquí parece muy fantasiosa la serie, pero veamos qué más tiene.

In addition to the abundant action, with well-constructed scenes, emphasis is placed on female empowerment, with the main character and the majority of the cast being women. The series, in its first season, takes place with two simultaneous events, following the thread of the same story, on the one hand, very religious and with a story arc where we are told about the angels from the point of view of the church, and another, from a very scientific angle wanting to give the explanation of the facts through physics and mathematics, which is what is most striking.

Además de la abundante acción que presenta, con escenas bien construidas, se hace énfasis en el empoderamiento femenino, siendo el personaje principal y la mayoría de su elenco, mujeres. La serie, en su primera temporada, transcurre con dos hechos simultáneos, siguiendo el hilo de una misma historia, por una parte, muy religiosa y con un arco argumental donde nos comentan acerca de los ángeles desde el punto de vista de la iglesia, y otro, desde un ángulo muy científico queriendo dar la explicación de los hechos a través de físicas y matemáticas, que es lo que más llama la atención.

Also, despite speaking English most of the time, it features other main languages such as Spanish, Latin and French, although the series is Spanish, produced by Netflix, it's a gem that combines many elements of different cultures in one. Its plot follows a very serious pattern but the main character manages to get a laugh out of us every moment she's on screen, with very comical and joyful appearances.

También, a pesar de hablar inglés la mayoría del tiempo, presenta otros idiomas principales como el español, el latín y el francés, aunque la serie es española, producida por Netflix, es una joya que combina muchos elementos de diferentes culturas en una. Su trama sigue un patrón muy serio pero el personaje principal nos consigue sacar una risa en cada momento que sale en pantalla, con apariciones muy cómicas y alegres.

We have actors like Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Lorena Andrea, Olivia Delcán, Toya Turner, Sylvia De Fanti and Emilio Sakraya in the main cast and Tristán Ulloa, May Lifschitz, Thekla Reuten, Peter de Jersey and Guiomar Alonso in supporting roles. William Miller as the angel Gabriel is a great actor from both seasons who gives his best and Joaquim De Almeida in the role of the pope.

William Miller como el ángel Gabriel es un actorazo de ambas temporadas que da lo mejor de sí y a Joaquim De Almeida en el papel del papa.

The graphics are way out of league and too demanding with respect to other projects from the same company, with a soundtrack that respects the religion in question and at the same time, with modern touches that bring us into the present.

Los gráficos están muy fuera de liga y son demasiado exigentes con respecto a otros proyectos de la misma empresa, con una banda sonora que respeta la religión en cuestión y a su vez, con toques modernos que nos hacen caer en el presente.

Warrior Nun had a big controversy that resulted in its cancellation due to its conclusive ending with the idea of not showing anything else of this peculiar story, but the fans saved the series and it was resumed for a third and final installment that is sure to break the small screen.

Warrior Nun tuvo una gran polémica que resultó en su cancelación debido a su final concluyente con la idea de no mostrar nada más de esta peculiar historia, pero los fans salvaron la serie y fue reanudada para una tercera y última entrega que seguro que romperá la pantalla chica.

Among other things, we can see a diversity of races and ethnicities from different countries of Asian, European, African and African-American descent, also showing us different parts of the world as the series progresses.

It contains many well-choreographed action scenes, battles with numerous special effects, and a sad backstory of the main character and the creator's view of the real events of the angels' history. Warrior Nun is a modern series that leaves much to be desired and doesn't sway other people's beliefs to connect with the audience. Contiene muchas escenas de acción bien coreografiadas, batallas con numerosos efectos especiales y una historia de trasfondo triste del personaje principal y la visión del creador de los sucesos reales de la historia de los ángeles. Warrior Nun es una serie moderna que deja mucho que desear y que no influye en las creencias de otras personas para conectar con la audiencia. Hace tiempo que quería hacer este post pero no encontraba las palabras correctas para emitirlo, esta vez creo que el borrador está completo, sin más, les dejo aquí mi valoración.
