Movie Review: IGE, the Unlikely Oil Merchant..

Are you looking for a movie that will melt your heart and stir your soul while you watch? Here is a new movie that I have watched, and I am bringing a review today. It is titled IGE, the unlikely oil merchant. This is the Nollywood movie that I feel deserves a lot of accolades because of the way it was done. This movie gives me a lot of understanding, and it makes me understand that whatever you are doing is doing well, and whatever you have to plan to do so long as you are chasing your dreams, it will surely come your way if you do not give up on your dreams.

Watching this movie got me so engrossed, and I felt emotional while I was watching because of some acts and things there. Sharing this review today gives me a lot of joy because I have actually been hoping to watch this movie for so long, and I even wanted to download it before I got it sent to me from a friend, so I had to leave it on my phone since last week, when I got it on my phone. Let me give a little review of this movie, which I believe you are going to love.

About the Movie

IGE, the unlikely oil merchant, is the latest Nollywood in town, presently directed by one of my lovely movie actors, Toyin Abraham. I love this movie not just because of the person who directed and produced it, but also because of the manner in which it was delivered to the audience. This movie came out like a jaw-dropper and gives you a lot of interest while you watch. The suspense the movie gives right from the start until the end is enough to make you watch this movie till the end.

This movie is more than just a movie because it's the true life story of a couple who face a path to stardom in their lives. It's a real-life experience, a tapestry woven with a lot of laughter, emotional moments, and the resilience of the human spirit.
Showing that whatever a man wants to achieve in life, he or she can achieve it, no matter the obstacles that might occur. This movie says it all, and I really gained a lot of experience from it. I will not relent on whatever I do because the rewards will come in no time. Either late or early.

Toyin Abraham acted as Adubi, and she showed herself as a woman whose life can motivate others by ensuring she stood by his son Bashiru, also an IGE. She showed heartfelt acting throughout the movie and also some pathetic moments, which almost got me crying because of the level of emotion shown by her and his son. She ensured that her son went to school to study and become a better person in life so that he could take care of her in the future. She was never worried about the current situation, which she was and even when her husband left her while she was pregnant, he did not come back for the both of them, leaving them to suffer.

Lateef Adedimeji, on the other hand, is an extraordinary cast member in the movie who acted as Babatunde, a man juggling his own ambitions with the weight of family expectations. The chemistry between bashiru and his mother brought a lot of light to the screen, giving moments of romance, grit, hardship, laughter, joy, a happy ending and many others. Most of the cast used in this movie really worked so hard to make this movie a great one, and I must commend that.

Some cast members in this movie are Toyin Abraham, who acted as adubi, Lateef Adedimeji as babatunde, Bimbo Ademoye; Jaiye Kuti; Taiwo Hassan; and many more.

This movie is more than just interesting and captivating. This movie portrays a view on gender inequality and also family, showing that this world is filled with a lot of values you can gain from the strong connections you have. This movie showed me that we can go beyond our own abilities if we are willing to do so. The strong connections that I've had helped him when he eventually got his dream business going after going through a lot of challenges.

Cinematography plays a vital role in this movie. It shows the real view of Lagos, which is where the movie was filmed, and it shows a nice picture of every part of the movie scene. Aside from having a nice image qualities, the soundtrack is another amazing thing I feel in love with in the movie, seamlessly blending traditional rhythms with contemporary beats, enhancing the film with an additional layer of cultural depth.

Despite the cool acting that this movie showed to the audience to watch, it is still filled with some flaws, which I complained about while I was watching, but some might not be able to deduce this because they just want to watch and have a nice time. I believe some certain plot points could have been dwelled upon to give a better understanding of the movie. These things can still be overlooked because the movie already gave them their best part.

What I love about the movie

I love the fact that this movie gave a better understanding and also showed that whatever a man has in mind to become in life, he will surely do it because he will be restless about it. I love the happy ending, which was where IGE had a befitting marriage to his supportive wife.

What I don't like

I don't like the fact that I do not know what eventually happened to his boss, whom he worked with at the fueling station. Despite the woman blocking him from a lot of opportunities to get a job, he still didn't relent. I also do not like the fact that his mother died after she labored so much for her son, and it was his father who left him for so long and came by after so many years to enjoy what he did not work for.

Rating: I would rate this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars.

In conclusion, IGE is a film that I will watch for as long as I will watch any movie. It's a heartfelt movie that I would recommend to anyone who loves to watch Nollywood movies. Also, I love the way this movie showed the fighting spirit of humans toward success. This movie gives a lot of hope to Human who might be down or depressed about life. This movie gives a lot of hope to everyone and encourages a better life. If you're looking for an interesting and a lovely movie that will leave you inspired and entertained, IGE is a must-watch, and I would recommend it for as long as it continues to exist.

I didn't know the term Nollywood, but I will start using it 😉. On the other hand, I like these stories and I have Amazon, so it's on my list. Thanks for sharing.
