WTF - Leave The World Behind - What's Your Take?

I'll start off with, this isn't my usual movie review. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS. If you haven't seen this film yet, you may want to watch it before reading.

Next, WTF did I just watch?

I'm not a huge Alex Jones fan but the guy calls it more times than not when it comes to whatever the globalists might be planning for us all. I try to tune in a couple times a month or whenever there are major events unfolding to get his take and the take of his listeners. I decided to tune in today to see what's going on in the world of conspiracy theory.

A few times throughout the show they kept mentioning a Netflix show Barrack and Michelle Obama were executive producers of "Leave The World Behind". Alex was going on about the racial undertones of the movie, and there may have been some, but as usual, Alex seems to read more into that than there really is. However, the storyline just completely blew me away.

Besides the Obama's getting executive producer credits on the film, it is an Esmail Corp Production, the same people that brought us Mr. Robot. I assumed from the start I was about to go on a wild ride.

The movie runs for a little over 2 hour and 20 minutes. I usually hate movies that long, but this one kept my attention. The basic plot goes like this, a family rents an Air BNB outside New York City to get away for a few days. When they get there, the internet goes out, their phones stop working, and slowly chaos begins to unfold around them. Planes crashing, oil tanker boats crashing onto land. Strange events begin to unfold. Nobody knows what's going on.

The owners of the Air BNB show up, they want to spend the night. They don't know what's happening either, but don't want to go into the city to find out. The racial undertones are the black owners of the home (the Air BNB), a man and his daughter. The renters are a white couple from NY with their two kids. Regardless, they're kind of stuck with each other at this point. Suspicion and some micro aggressions ensue but they get along for the most part.

HUGE SPOILER ALERT

Throughout the movie, more and more bizarre stuff unfolds. Are there EMPs at play? Sonic Weapons? Are we being invaded? They don't know if we're at war if it's something else.

OK, I'm leaving out the super bizarre ending but by the end of the film, it's obvious the US is being invaded and all out war has broken out. This is pretty much where they leave us hanging, with the most bizarre ending I've ever seen in cinema.

There's plenty of room for a Part II and there are plenty of unanswered questions.

Bizarre Timing of This Movie

When the movie ended I had to ask myself what I just watched. Propaganda? Well yeah, definitely. Is there a warning in here? Are the Obama's trying to warn us of something coming? I mean this was the strangest piece of cinema I've ever viewed. Considering current world events, and the concept of a huge chunk of the world hating the US right now, I find the timing of this film to be suspect? It's just weird.

What's Your Take?

If you seen the movie, what's your take on all this? Am I reading more into this than I should? I'm sure the Obama's acted more in the capacity of consultants, or maybe there's more to it. Still, what the hell was this. It almost seemed like some sort of warning propaganda, like here's what's coming. IDK, could be making it out to be more than it is like Alex. Still, I can't shake the feeling like there's a message to us all in this film. Would love to hear your thoughts...

My husband and I watched the movie last night, and I must say, I have to agree with you. What the heck was that meant to show us. Being somewhat of a believer in conspiracies, I had to wonder if they were preparing us for what could come one day. I think they always tell the story through movies ahead of time as if they have to do so. The ending, ugh!

Absolutely. Its a way to decondition or soften the idea in the populations mind. Then when it happens, people are a little more prepared or at the very least desensitized to the situation. Not sure if that is the case here, but just saying. It definitely made you think though.

The ending, ugh!

So many unanswered questions. It was like the movie just stopped at the halfway mark or something. I even rewound to see if I had hit a button on the remote or something. It definitely left the viewer wanting more... At least I did. It was also a bit of a let down IMHO. I thought HBO was the king of bad endings 🤣 I hope Netflix doesn't follow their lead. 🤣

I felt the same with the ending, perhaps they left room for a second one, that would be about right. lol

I hope so. I was actually enjoying the movie until the end. 🤣 Then I was like, "What happened", "Noooooo", "I need answers" 🤣
