Beautiful Disaster (2023)

I wasn't given the heads up that a pack of popcorn and a dimly lit room was going to be needed while watching this one but I'll tell you ahead that you should grab some popcorn and turn off the lights if you ever decide to see this film. Trust me when I say it's a rollercoaster ride of laughter, love and nail-biting intensity. In other words, buckle up for a joyous journey through highs and lows of human emotions.

Abby is tired of the life of being a daddy's girl; one who he taught to be very good at playing cards but also one who keeps bailing him out of troubles and runs away from home to college where she can live a normal life. On her first day, her old friend and roommate Mer, takes her out to a fight club where she bumps into the star fighter, Travis, a fine guy with cute tats and nice physique. She's immediately stricken at his good looks and thinks of him while having her bath later that night.

Unfortunately, after that near hot evening, watching Travis fight, Abby keeps running into him but she's afraid to start a thing because she's tired of being around crazy people and Travis kind of fit that word as he was a fighter and also a Solomon.

She tries to avoid him but he keeps showing up in her face. One thing leads to another, and she makes a bet with him on the night that he's to fight with a dude that looks heavier than him. Sadly, he wins the bet and she has to do what he wanted; cohabit with him for one month. This gets them closer to each other and Travis falls head over heels for Abby but she keeps denying she has a thing for him. He gets jealous one time, on the night they almost went down when he sees an “I miss you” text from Mick on her PC. He bails out and doesn't return until the next day.

On the day the deal with Abby expires, she leaves his house without telling him and on her way to class, she gets notified that her father, Mick, is in trouble and for him to not be chopped to death, she has to pay the hundred grand which he owes a business man.

Things get intense from here and a lot is uncovered.

My Rating

I'd rate this movie a solid 5. It gives off a cinematic vibe. I was literally having a bad day but when I began watching this film, my mood was suddenly lifted and my face brightened up.

I also love how the characters ate up their roles. I loved every scene with every new face that came up. Unlike some movies where I just want to skip to the part where I see the main characters. I especially love Travis. Honestly, Abby got eyes for good things. He looked absolutely mouthwatering with those very good tats and he's also a ten for being a very good fighter even though he almost got himself killed in the end for going to fight with someone that looked like Brock Lesnar while he looked like The Miz. Anyway, the last fight happened because he wanted to help his girlfriend out with the money she needed to bail out her deadbeat dad. Now that's a real man. ^{things people do for love. Hehehe.}

The soundtrack was on point. I give it to the director and producer. How can I leave out the writer of this beautiful script? The director is actually the same as the writer. Cool right? The storyline is indeed lovely. I enjoyed every scene, the pacing in my opinion was a little slow but it was steady and nice.

Highly recommended.

PS: I know the world has evolved and 16 is now the new 18, so I'd say watch responsibly.
