Chainsaw Man was Interestingly Weird...

I was browsing my anime to-watch list a couple days back because I didn't know what to watch. I usually end up rewatching older stuff that I enjoyed even though I have a pretty long list of anime I'm yet to watch.

Then, I decided to check Chainsaw Man out since there are only 12 episodes and I know it also had a reputation when it came out last year. In addition, I know it's from Shonen JUMP, so I thought, "What could go wrong?"... right? :)

The story is about Denji a young guy who inherited a huge amount of debt from his parents. He was living quite a miserable life with his pet (a devil) named Pochita who he saved when he was younger. Together, they work as devil hunters to pay off the debt. Unfortunately though, he was betrayed and was killed... but then, the very cute Pochita (a chainsaw devil) offered him its heart and he became the Chainsaw Man.

His bond with Pochita was so adorable, so when Pochita sacrificed to bring him back to life, I was teary-eyed. I wanted to see more of Pochita, though.

A lot of interesting and crazy things happened to Denji after he was able to transform as the Chainsaw Man. Since he became a hybrid devil and human, Makima, an elite Public Safety Bureau devil hunter took him in. As long as Denji follows her, he'd be able to live a life in which he need not worry about food and money... but since he's a hybrid, once he tries to leave, he'd be considered a devil.

I won't tell any more info about this anime, but feel free to watch the trailer below.

As expected from an anime based on a Shonen JUMP comic, it was so excited and fun to watch. What made me like this anime the most was the existence of a lot of crazy and unique characters. There were a bunch of funny scenes that made me laugh out loud, but there were also quite the emotional ones... you know that feeling when you see someone who's always so happy and crazy without a care in the world suddenly cries? It's tough...

And ohh.. it's quite bloody, so if gore and grotesque aren't your cup of tea, then I suppose you shouldn't watch this. There are also some other sensitive scenes... But if you want to challenge watching it, just brace yourself... okay?

Thanks for reading and see you next time!!!

no hay que juzgar sin antes verlo, pero esa cara que tiene al transformarse no me llama la atención jeje

you shouldn't judge without seeing it first, but that face he has when he transforms doesn't catch my attention hehehe.

Hahaha... no worries. That's pretty understandable. A lot of people would have two minds about it. ^^

I also enjoy watching this, it's cool and all, love the bloody scene too. Pero parang for me lang na over hype sya before. Pero maganda naman pero not the kind na uulitin ulitin ko. Anyways, wala akonh mahanap na ibang anime ngayon na maganda, bumabalik tuloy ako sa mga napanood ko na. I'm watching Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill again, this is one of my comfort anime, as of the moment.

Is it isekai??? Not really my cup of tea, but I've checked some of them...
I have to agree with you.. I tend to rewatch old anime especially sports... kakatapos ko lang ulitin Dia no Ace (3rd time na) and Cross Game (2nd time)... tapos now, Haikyuu! (10th time na..) I'm in need of sports animeeee!!!

avatar

Yesuuuu, you should try that one, or maybe just check the trailer hehe.

Ahhhh, now that you mentioned Haikyuu, it's about time to rewatch it again. I miss Hinata and Kageyama duo already, lol. One of the best sport anime I ever watch!

This anime was really weird for me, I saw the first season and I liked it but I felt it was too short. Hope the next season has more episodes to better flesh out everything.

It was weird in the best way possible. haha Looking forward to watching it, too! :D

I had my reservations about this anime, but it exceeded my expectations so much that I decided to read the manga, and the story is very good. Hopefully, they release the second season soon 🤞

Waaa... I'm actually still thinking whether to read the manga or patiently wait for the second season. Let's see how my patience would play. ^^
