OUR SECRET DIARY REVIEW
At first, I was hesitant to start because I was worried that my mood would suddenly vanish to watch this genre. But, as it turned out, I really enjoyed a film with a fresh cast.
ORIENTATION
The story begins when Nozomi Kuroda (Hiyori Sakurada) moves up to the second year of high school and occupies a bench that has a lot of graffiti on it. The graffiti is from the previous owner. In addition to getting a bench full of graffiti, Nozomi also gets a piece of paper from the popular student who owns the bench who has now moved up to the third grade. Jun Setoyama (Fumiya Takahashi).
All students in the school know about Setoyama who is very popular with female students. Moreover, Setoyama is active in the football club. Nozomi who got the unexpected letter was then very happy because she didn't expect to get attention from the most popular boy.
However, in the course of the secret correspondence between Setoyama Kuroda, the fact that the letter addressed by Setoyama was not for Kuroda, but for Kuroda's close friend, Erino Matsumoto (Mizuki Kayashima) was finally revealed.
Matsumoto is no ordinary female student either. She is the president of the school, and everyone looks up to her. On top of that, Matsumoto is also beautiful. When Kuroda felt that Matsumoto didn't really care about Setoyama, Kuroda took the initiative to continue his secret diary and pretended to be Matsumoto.
Kuroda's lies actually made Setoyama and Kuroda closer. Gradually, Setoyama also forgot his original goal of pursuing Matsumoto.
CHARACTERISTICS
- *** Nozomi Kuroda (Hiyori Sakurada)***
laying the role of a student who is active in the school radio broadcasting club, it does not instantly make Kuroda an outgoing person. Kuroda is only friends with Matsumoto and one other friend. She is shy and not straightforward in expressing her feelings. Despite being good at hosting radio broadcasts, Kuroda is a person who is nervous about dealing with new people. It can be seen how nervous he is to face Setoyama.
This is the second time I've seen the acting of Hiyore Sakurada, previously she played in the Netflix series SILENT as a supporting role. Hiyori is very beautiful and not boring. Her role is also good.
- Jun Setoyama (Fumiya Takahashi)
A very popular student, it turns out that Setoyama doesn't have any experience dating a girl. It's a paradox, isn't it? He can't decide who he really wants, and pursuing Matsumoto is his first experience that ends very sweetly.
However, Setoyama is not a playboy who likes to hurt women. In the film, it is said that Setoyama is a good boy who loves his daughters and also takes care of his sickly grandmother after his mother died. Although in love Setoyama is not an expert, but for his own dreams, he really knows what he wants to pursue. He who had given up on his dreams, finally got excited again after meeting Kuroda.
- *** Erino Matsumoto (Mizuki Kayashima) ***
Although not taking up too much space, Erino Matsumoto's role should still be taken into account. As a student as well as a keuta osisi, Matsumoto's character is mature and easy to admire. There is no childishness in Matsumoto.
As for individual judgement. Matsumoto is also a good friend, a friend who understands Kuroda. He knew that Kuroda's lie on his behalf was not something that should be exaggerated, because he understood how good a person Kuroda was. From this alone, we can tell that Matsumoto is not someone who looks at things holistically.
INTERPRETATION
Our Secret Diary is suitable to be watched with family, especially for pubescent teenagers, this spectacle is very fresh and entertaining. The moral message in this film is quite nutritious for teenagers in terms of dreams and friendship. {Teens can learn the meaning of genuine friendship from Matsumoto and Kuroda.
In addition, teenagers can also learn about true dreams from Setoyama's determination.
SUMMARY
Although there hasn't been much talk about this film, I still recommend Our Secret Diary as a watching list for your weekend. Either alone, with a park, or watch it with your family. It's approved by me. Haha
That's all for my film review, stay tuned for the next one.
Unknown cast is actually one of the things that I am looking for when finding movies to watch, it gives me much interest by not knowing the actor and actresses.
Sometimes, it is easier to accept a film if we don't really know the cast. it will reduce biased judgments. So, when we watch, we will focus on the storyline and characters rather than the cast. So, I agree with you.
I have always liked this genre of Korean drama, their stories are very nice attractive and relaxing, I would like to watch many of them. Thanks for sharing.
