If yesterday I discussed Korean films, then this time I will discuss Indonesian films that are currently showing in theaters. a film entitled 1 Kakak 7 Ponakan. This is a film that made me cry throughout the film, a film that will make us think how can there be humans like that, or how can there be people that good, or also how can a life that looks sad but makes him smile. The film adapted from an Indonesian drama in 1996, takes the same story but is packaged in a different way.

This film begins with the emergence of a harmonious family, a husband and wife, where the wife is pregnant, then 3 children and 1 younger brother of the wife. It started happily, where the children and younger brother were saying goodbye to go to school. But after their departure, something bad happened, where the husband had a heart attack and died, not enough sadness that lasted, the wife had a ruptured water and had to give birth at that time, but unfortunately after giving birth the wife's life could not be saved.

Due to compelling circumstances, Chicco Kurniawan as Moko was forced to forget his future to study for a Masters and also let go of his girlfriend in order to take care of and support his four nieces. They had a difficult life, not only Moko's time and energy were used up for his nieces, but he also had to earn money.

In the difficulty of living with his four nephews, his childhood piano teacher appeared while bringing his daughter, this was intended to temporarily entrust his child to Moko. Of course for his living expenses it became even more difficult, but even so, Moko remained happy and took care of his nephews who were now 5 people very well.

It didn't feel like 2 years had passed, his youngest nephew was already 2 years old, he could be left with his other nephews. And that's where Moko returned to looking for a better job, and unexpectedly he met his ex-girlfriend again, they started to get close again, and Moko's girlfriend, Amanda, really helped Moko in his new workplace. Not only in work, Amanda also helped Moko in taking care of his nephews.

Moko got a good job, met her boyfriend again, it was a beautiful story. But Moko's suffering was not only that, when he started to rebuild his life well, his other sister appeared with her husband, this was a new problem in Moko's life. He not only supported his five nephews, but also his sister and brother-in-law, 7 dependents. Not only did it add to the burden, his brother-in-law was an evil person.

Moko's brother-in-law ran away with the money that Moko sent to his nephews, not only that, his brother-in-law also said bad things about his nephews. Like his nephews made things difficult for Moko, and told them to work, even though at that time they were still very young. Moko who found out about it was of course furious, but when he wanted to be angry, his brother-in-law ran away and left his wife at home.

That's a short story about this movie, a very touching and good movie. This is one of my favorite Indonesian movies, and this is the saddest movie. Moko's struggle in taking care of his nephew is very touching, he experiences many hardships but never complains. He loves his nephews very much, doesn't feel burdened at all. And for Moko's girlfriend, she is also very kind. When she could find another man, she still chooses Moko and helps Moko.

And what makes this film even sadder is its soundtrack, almost all of it is sung by a singer named Sal Priadi. When Moko reunites his nephews, asking them not to feel guilty, a song is heard with the lyrics "we try to make that home ...", which means a home with a harmonious family and love each other. It really made me cry, and all the audience there also cried. Not just one song, but others also make this film sad. But even though it's sad, I think there are many things that can be taken and learned from this film. The cast is amazingly good, the storyline is amazingly good, the songs are very good, this is a film that must be watched.

I didn't even take many pictures, because I was still crying when I got out of the cinema. This is the second movie I've seen this year, it seems like there will be more good movies this year, I can't wait to see it too.
