Hello all movie lovers! A while ago I saw a movie on Youtube that I loved called Interface and that made me interested in the supposed Philadelphia experiment. In the middle of that search, I came across the movie The Philadelphia Experiment and I don't regret watching it, since it was quite interesting, to the point of broadening my taste for this type of film.

It dates back to 1943, during the Second World War. Sailors and best friends David Herdeg and Jim Parker, try to fulfill their obligations without losing hope in their own romantic relationships, as they hope that after the war, they can continue with their lives as peaceful way.

On their next mission, the boys embark on the warship Eldridge, which will be subjected to an experimental operation with the aim of making it completely invisible to enemy radar. After carrying out this test, everything seems to have gone perfectly, since after activating the generator that is on the ship, it manages to completely disappear from the radars that are monitoring the operation on land. The experiment seems to have been a complete success, if it were not for the fact that it provoked an unexpected reaction: the Eldridge actually disappears from the coast along with all of its crew, alarming everyone who was supervising the events.

Everything is chaos on the ship that seems to have teleported. Amid the screams and desperation, David and Jim try to stop the generators, but suffer injuries that lead them to make the decision to jump from the ship in the middle of the Eldridge's uncertain teleportation, which causes the boys to end up having a trip. in time towards the future, more exactly to the year 1984.

Without knowing where they are, or what to do, the boys soon discover that they do not belong to that time and what is more terrifying: It seems that their bodies present consequences from what happened on the ship. Without having any other options, they decide to try to return to the place where everything originated, although in the midst of all that, the authorities begin to pursue them to finish them off.

As I mentioned, I decided to watch a movie after having seen Interface, another completely amazing movie that is available on YouTube and which I hope to talk about in future posts. In that film, the entire plot ends after that supposedly very particular experiment with the ship and I was so intrigued that I began to look for information regarding said experiment, finding the film that I am talking about in this post.

I really enjoyed it a lot. You could say that I am a fan of time travel films of this style and the plot fulfilled exactly what I expected.

Although the special effects are not out of this world, for the period I think they are quite decent, like the scene of the sailors merging with the ship; I was waiting for that scene and it didn't disappoint me at all. It's one of my favorites. Not to mention, I will always be of the opinion that you don't need extravagant special effects to tell a good story.

I am fascinated by the way the events unfold in the film, as well as the scripts, although I feel that some things feel a bit forced or strange, such as the love relationship between David and Allison, the girl from the "future" who ends up helping him, driven simply by the instinct that the boy was not crazy and that he was telling the truth.

I liked it a lot except for the ending and I'm not referring to the fantastic way in which David managed to solve the problem that had been created in space-time, but to the fact that the man stayed to live precisely in the future and not return to his time... I am not a scientist, or anything like that, but my logic tells me that if time travel were possible, a creature from another time could not remain permanently in another time that does not correspond to it, That, in the long run, should bring consequences to the person or the environment that interacts with it... but hey, I suppose that in science fiction anything is possible and it was more encouraging to leave a romantic ending in which the lovers manage to be together despite the laws of physics haha ​​I love that.

I definitely recommend it, it's not a waste at all and I could watch it again without any problems. I think it has that "something" about the films of that time, that hooked you from beginning to end, because at no point did I feel bored with what I was seeing. I hope to find more films like this and be able to present them to you so that you can enjoy them too.

¡Hola a todos los amantes de las películas! Hace un tiempo vi una película en Youtube que me encantó llamada Interface y que me hizo interesarme en el supuesto experimento Filadelfia. En medio de esa búsqueda, me encontré con la película El experimento Filadelfia y no me arrepiento de verla, ya que fue bastante interesante, hasta el punto de ampliar mi gusto por éste tipo de filmes.

Corre al año 1943, durante la segunda guerra mundial. Los marineros y mejores amigos David Herdeg y Jim Parker, tratan de cumplir con sus obligaciones sin perder la esperanza en sus propias relaciones románticas, ya que esperan que luego de la guerra, puedan continuar con sus vidas de forma apacible.

En su siguiente misión, los chicos se embarcan en el buque de guerra Eldridge, el cual será sometido a una operación experimental con el objetivo de hacer que se vuelva completamente invisible ante el radar enemigo. Luego de hacer dicha prueba, todo parece haber salido a la perfección, ya que luego de activar el generador que se encuentra en el buque, éste logra desaparecer por completo de los radares que se encuentran monitoreando la operación en tierra. El experimento parece haber sido todo un éxito, de no ser porque el mismo provocó una reacción inesperada: el Eldridge realmente desaparece de la costa junto a todos sus tripulantes, alarmando a todos los que se encontraban supervisando los hechos.

Todo es un caos en el buque que parece haberse teletransportado. En medio de los gritos y la desesperación, David y Jim, intentan detener los generadores, pero sufren heridas que los llevan a tomar la decisión de saltar del barco en plena teletransportación incierta del Eldridge, lo que genera que los chicos acaben por tener un viaje en el tiempo hacia el futuro, más exactamente al año 1984.

Sin saber en dónde se encuentran, ni qué hacer, los chicos no tardan en descubrir que no pertenecen a aquella época y lo que es más aterrador: Parece que sus cuerpos, presentan secuelas productos de lo ocurrido en el buque. Sin tener más opciones, deciden tratar de volver al sitio en donde se originó todo, aunque en medio de todo eso, comienzan a perseguirlos las autoridades para acabar con ellos.

Como mencioné, me animé a ver película luego de haber visto Interface, otra película completamente alucinante que se encuentra disponible en Youtube y de la cual, espero hablar en próximas publicaciones. En esa película, toda la trama se desemboca luego de aquel supuesto experimento tan particular con el barco y quedé tan intrigada, que comencé a buscar información concerniente a dicho experimento, hallándome con la película que les hablo en éste post.

Realmente la disfruté mucho. Podría decirse que soy fanática de los filmes ambientados en viajes en el tiempo de éste estilo y la trama cumplió exactamente con lo que esperaba.

A pesar de que los efectos especiales no son del otro mundo, para época pienso que son bastante decentes, como la escena de la fusión de los marinos con el barco; estaba esperando esa escena y para nada me defraudó. Es de mis favoritas. Sin mencionar que siempre opinaré que no son necesarios efectos especiales extravagantes para contar una buena historia.

Me fascina el modo en que se desarrollan los eventos en el filme, así como los guiones del mismo, aunque siento que algunas cosas se sientes un poco forzadas o extrañas, como la relación amorosa entre David y Allison, la chica del "futuro" que termina ayudándolo, llevada simplemente por el instinto de que el chico no estaba loco y que decía la verdad.

Me gustó bastante a excepción del final y no me refiero a la forma fantasiosa en que David logró solucionar el problema que se había creado en el espacio tiempo, sino al hecho de que el hombre, se quedara a vivir precisamente en el futuro y no regresase a su tiempo... No soy científica, ni nada parecido, pero mi lógica me dice que de ser posibles los viajes en el tiempo, una criatura de otro tiempo, no podría quedarse de forma definitiva en otro tiempo que no le corresponda, eso a la larga, debería traerle secuelas a la persona o al entorno que interactúe con el mismo... pero bueno, supongo que en la ciencia ficción todo es posible y era más alentador dejar un final romántico en el cual, los enamorados logran estar juntos a pesar de las leyes de la física jaja Adoro eso.

Sin duda la recomiendo, no es para nada un desperdicio y podría verla sin problemas de nuevo. Pienso que tiene ese "algo" de las películas de esa época, que te enganchaba de principio a fin, porque en ningún momento, me sentí fastidiada de lo que estaba viendo. Espero hallarme más películas como ésta y poder presentárselas para que también, puedan disfrutarlas.
