ENGLISH CONTENT

Hello to all movie lovers! I am not a fan of the horror genre and its derivatives at all, but I confess that I am capable of seeing this type of film if it contains bizarre and unusual content, as in the case of Hellraiser. I remember that a couple of years ago when I lived with my boyfriend, we used to watch a movie after work and I had told him that I wanted to see strange movies. After searching, he got the Hellraiser movies and from the first one, I was quite intrigued, being able to see the next parts in due time. So when my boyfriend told me about this recent installment, I definitely gave it a shot.

The plot this time, tells us the life of a somewhat problematic girl named Riley McKendry, who lives with her older brother Matt and apart, is going through rehabilitation for the use of illegal drugs. Riley's brother does everything he can to help her sister sober up and out of her troubles, but the girl maintains a rebellious behavior at all times, which leads them to fight most of the time. Things get worse when Matt finds out that his sister is dating a boy who is in bad ways, fearing that the girl will relapse. Riley insists to her brother that she has things under control and that he doesn't have to worry as much about what happens to him.

Affected by her brother's words, Riley is overwhelmed by not knowing what to do to show him that he can fend for himself, since his current job is not going as he would like. It is then that her partner Trevor tells her about a store for millionaire people, where he usually makes deliveries, inviting her to accompany her to steal some things and give her part of it, confiding in the profit that the place is abandoned and not they will have trouble getting a few things of value without anyone noticing. With the rent just around the corner and her desperation for some independence, the girl agrees to join her criminal scheme.

The scheduled night the boys enter the warehouse without any difficulty and after opening the container, they find that inside there is only a small safe. Completely disappointed and intrigued by the contents of that box that was transported in that way, they do their best to open it and when they do, they find a smaller box (as if it were a matryoshka 🤣) and inside, what appears to be a strange looking cube. The young people, convinced that this strange object must have some value, decide to take it with them without really knowing what they have found.

Returning home, Matt confronts Riley concerned that he doesn't know where he had been so late at night. Riley, annoyed, says hurtful things to her brother and he, realizing that she is drunk, ends up throwing her out of the house. The completely upset girl is about to sleep in her vehicle, when when going through her things, she finds some pills. Carried by the situation, she takes some of her own and goes to a nearby park along with the strange box that she found in that store. After reviewing it, Riley manages to decipher a part of the combination in the box, thus summoning the cenobites, these beings, after appearing in front of her, tell her that she has to go with them or, on the contrary, get someone to take her place.

In the midst of the situation, Matt wakes up sensing that his sister is in danger and being unable to stay in bed, he goes looking for her. That's when he finds his sister lying in the park with that object in her hand, only when trying to take it, she cuts herself and her blood comes into contact with the box, so the Cenobites take that as a sign that Matt , is the one who will take Riley's place, taking him with him. Faced with the strange disappearance of his brother, everyone is confused, especially Riley, because he does not stop thinking that his brother's disappearance has to do with that strange cube, so together with Trevor, he tries to do everything possible to continue solving the cube in the hope that he can bring his brother back, not knowing that things are much more twisted than he thinks.

[Click to read my opinion about the movie] I confess that at first the approach to the main characters seemed a bit long, but then I was able to understand a little thanks to it, the relationship between Riley and his brother. Although I didn't like the fact that poor Matt ended up having such an unfortunate end since he didn't deserve it at all, but well, that traumatic event contributed to his sister finally changing.
I'll always complain about the effects of the more recent Hellraiser movies, as I can't get over the dramatic way the appearance of the Cenobites was dealt with in the first and second movies, but still, I liked how they looked in this one .
As I told you, I'm not a fan of movies where blood abounds, but even so I can admit that I enjoyed the film or at least, it didn't bore me as much as other Hellraiser movies that I don't remember, because of how tedious they seemed to me ha ha
But without a doubt, my favorite part was the one at the end, where it is explained what would be the birth of a cenobite as such. I like those kinds of explanations because it is precisely these strange beings that keep me in my position to continue watching any Hellraiser movie.
To finish, I comment that in general, something that I like about Hellraiser is that it basically tells you stories with different unfortunate characters, being able to watch each movie independently without feeling that you are lost with the events, especially if several years have passed between every movie. That also allows you to approach issues from different angles. As I mentioned, I haven't liked all the Hellraiser movies, but the idea that deals with beings from other dimensions seems attractive to me, especially when dealing with creatures as peculiar as the cenobites. I hope to find more movies of this type that make me get out of my comfort zone when it comes to watching movies. Of course, I don't see these types of movies alone and I admit that if a scene is very impressive in terms of blood, rest assured that I will look away ha ha

¡Hola a todos los amantes de las películas! No soy para nada fan del género de terror y sus derivados, pero confieso que soy capaz de ver éste tipo de filmes si estos contiene contenido bizarro y fuera de lo común, como en el caso de Hellraiser. Recuerdo que hace un par de años atrás cuando vivía con mi novio, teníamos la costumbre se ver una película luego de trabajar y le había comentado que quería ver películas extrañas. Luego de buscar, consiguió las películas de Hellraiser y desde la primera, me sentí bastante intrigada, pudiendo ver las siguientes partes en su debido momento. Así que cuando mi novio me comentó acerca de ésta entrega reciente, sin duda le di una oportunidad.

La trama ésta vez, nos cuenta la vida de una chica un tanto problemática de nombre Riley McKendry, quien vive con su hermano mayor Matt y aparte, se encuentra pasando por rehabilitación por el uso de drogas ilícitas. El hermano de Riley hace todo lo posible por ayudar a su hermana a estar sobria y lejos de los problemas, pero la chica en todo momento mantiene un comportamiento rebelde, lo cual los lleva a pelearse la mayoría del tiempo. Las cosas empeoran cuando Matt se entera que su hermana está saliendo con un chico que está en malos pasos, temiendo por una recaída de la chica. Riley le insiste a su hermano en que tiene las cosas bajo control y que no tiene que preocuparse tanto por lo que le sucede.

Afectada por las palabras de su hermano, Riley se agobia al no saber que hacer para demostrarle que puede valerse por sí misma, siendo que en su trabajo actual, no le va como quisiera. Es entonces cuando su pareja Trevor le habla acerca de un almacén de gente millonaria, en donde él suele hacer entregas, invitándola a acompañarla a robar algunas cosas y darle parte de las ganancias, confiándole que el sitio se encuentra abandonado y no tendrán problemas en conseguir unas cuantas cosas de valor sin que nadie se dé cuenta. Con el pago del alquiler a la vuelta de la esquina y su desesperación por obtener algo de independencia, la chica acepta unirse a su plan delictivo.

La noche pautada los chicos entran sin ninguna dificultad al almacén y tras abrir el conteiner, se encuentran con que en su interior sólo se encuentra una pequeña caja fuerte. Completamente decepcionados e intrigados por el contenido de aquella caja que fue transportada de aquella forma, hacen lo posible por abrirla y al lograrlo se encuentran con una caja más pequeña (así como si fuera una matrioshka 🤣) y en su interior, lo que parece ser un cubo con apariencia extraña. Los jóvenes convencidos de que aquel extraño objeto debe tener algún valor, deciden llevárselo consigo sin saber realmente lo que se han encontrado.

Al volver a casa, Matt enfrenta a Riley preocupado al no saber en dónde había estado a tan altas horas de la noche. Riley, molesta le dice cosas hirientes a su hermano y éste, al darse cuenta de que está ebria termina echándola de la casa. La chica completamente molesta se dispone dormir en su vehículo, cuando al revisar entre sus cosas, encuentra unas pastillas. Llevada por la situación se toma algunas y se va a un parque cercano junto con la caja extraña que encontró en aquel almacén. Luego de de revisarla, Riley logra descifrar una parte de la combinación de la caja, convocando así a los cenobitas, estos seres tras aparecerse frente a ella, le dicen que tiene que irse con ellos o por el contrario, conseguir a alguien que tome su lugar.

En medio de la situación, Matt se despierta al sentir que su hermana está en peligro y al ser incapaz de continuar en cama, sale a buscarla. Es ahí cuando consigue a su hermana tirada en el parque con aquel objeto en la mano, sólo que al intentar tomarlo, se corta y su sangre, entra en contacto con la caja, por lo que los cenobitas toman aquello como una señal de que Matt, es el que tomará el lugar de Riley, llevándoselo consigo. Ante la extraña desaparición de su hermano, todos se encuentran confundidos, especialmente Riley, pues no deja de pensar que la desaparición de su hermano tiene que ver con aquel extraño cubo, por lo que junto a Trevor, trata de hacer lo posible por seguir resolviendo el cubo con la esperanza de poder traer de vuelta a su hermano, sin saber que las cosas son mucho más retorcidas de lo que piensa.

[Clickear para leer mi opinion sobre la pelicula] Confieso que al principio me pareció un poco largo el abordaje de los personajes principales, pero luego pude comprender un poco gracias a ello, la relación entre Riley y su hermano. Aunque no me gustó el hecho de que el pobre Matt acabara teniendo un final tan desafortunado siendo que no lo merecía para nada, aunque bueno, ese evento traumático contribuyó a que su hermana finalmente cambiara.
Siempre me quejaré de los efectos de las películas de Hellraiser más recientes, pues no supero el modo dramático en que se abordaba la aparición de los cenobitas en la primera y segunda película, pero aún así, me gustó el aspecto que les dieron en ésta.
Como les comenté, no soy fans de las películas en donde abunda la sangre, pero aún así puedo admitir que disfruté del filme o al menos, no me aburrió tanto como otras películas de Hellraiser que no recuerdo, por lo tediosas que me parecieron ja ja
Pero sin duda, mi parte favorita fue la del final, en donde se explica lo que sería el nacimiento de un cenobita como tal. Me gustan esa clase de explicaciones porque es precisamente esos seres extraños lo que me mantienen en mi posición de seguir viendo cualquier película de Hellraiser.
Para finalizar, comento que en general, algo que me gusta de Hellraiser es que básicamente te cuenta historias con diferentes personajes desafortunados, pudiendo ver cada película de forma independientemente sin sentir que estas perdido con los acontecimientos, sobre todo si han pasado varios años entre cada película. Eso también permite abordar los temas desde diferentes ángulos. Como comenté, no todas las películas de Hellraiser me han gustado, pero me parece atractiva la idea que aborda seres de otras dimensiones y más cuando se tratan de criaturas tan peculiares como lo son los cenobitas. Espero hallarme con más películas de éste tipo que me hagan salir de mi zona de confort a la hora de ver filmes. Eso si, éste tipo de películas yo no las veo solas y admito que si una escena es muy impresionante en cuanto a la sangre, tengan por seguro que desviaré la mirada ja ja
